Black bear is always a win. Weather it's an impromptu breakfast with friends. A post race feast, or a holiday meal with the ones you love. There breakfasts are always on point. The lunches out if this world! And diner always hits the mark. My favorite is the fact that I never see the bottom of my coffee cup! The cinnamon roll pancake is a must. And the Grizz is perfect when your super Hungry. The staff has always been friendly. I look forward to my next meal at Black Bear Diner

Out of all the Black Bear Diner's I've eaten at the one in Seaside to me has the coolest environment. Whether you wanna sit at the counter, booth, table or need a small room for meetings or private gathering this Black Bear can accommodate it all. The staff was friendly but seemed a bit stress with the amount of guests that were eating there that day. The menu has sooooo many choices it's a little overwhelming! They have a GREAT dessert menu and there all pretty yummy.My Dad ordered Corn beef Hash and to be honest the corn beef hash was a little dry. The open face turkey sandwich was yummy but order extra gravy. Portions are ALWAYS BIG ...so come hungry or share a plate with a buddy. They also serve Prime Rib on certain days after 4pm!!
Great family friendly restaurant with American fare.We stopped here on our way into Monterey. It wasn’t busy at all on a Sunday afternoon. Food was reasonably priced and the service was was great.The whole place was really clean and so was the bathroom.

Cozy-nature oriented diner! This diner is very clean. The service is fast and the staff is friendly.Be aware that the portions here tend to be big so be prepare to eat a lot.

During my visit to Monterey, I visited the Black Bear Diner and three other breakfast diners. I'd say out of all of them, the Black Bear topped the list! I ordered "The Grizz" and it comes with everything you expect at breakfast. The food was on point and enjoyed every bite. They had the best coffee, too. I must also say the staff were exceptionally cheerful on that day, and I normally don't see that at restaurants. Makes me think they get treated well, which is good. I also enjoyed the decor and the bear theme the place gives off. My only complaint is the distance between the seating and the bar table is too far for my comfort, and the seat was in a fixed position, so I think I'd go with a booth in the future. I would definitely visit again, though!
The service was fast, the food was tasty but when I got the check, they thought that the lady that sat next to me was my wife. They had her pay for her own. the credit card machine was off line and had to wait 15 min. to run my card, otherwise they get 5⭐
