Really great !The hostes was a super nive guy (the server not much). The wine was great. The onion food was perfect. Same with the sea Bass. The bread was good but the olive oil should not be served as it is of a very low quality.
Food was delicious and I really enjoyed their wine selections. The owners and staff were incredibly nice and gracious when I accidentally lit a napkin on fire by dropping it into the votive on the table. Will definitely return next time I'm in Monterey.
Main dishes were good, salade wasn’t absolutely not special at all. The support/and or barback checks don us more then the server. With long food wait times with no checks. 2 stars cause the entrées are good! I wouldn’t recommend tho!
Excellent food with really friendly service. We never have to wait long for our meal and the staff is very attentive.Definitely one of my favorites.
The French onion soup was good, at least 4 out of 5. The cannelloni with beef filet was delicious. A five solid. The service was outstanding, friendly and capable. But the duck confit, which should be a classic and outstanding in any French bistro, anywhere in the world, was dry and tasteless. Inexcusable! Please fix this.
My Very First Time here I always wanted to Try it But It’s a bit Expensive for Me. I went because of A server I had from another restaurant Now works there. Her Name Cassandra. I ordered The Osso Bucco it was Delicious. For Dessert I had Tiramisu. It was ok I had Better I hope I will return
Visited again on a busy Saturday night. Friendly welcome. Nice atmosphere. Just a bit too hectic for my taste. Terrine de campagne was just OK but cannelloni and confit of duck entrees were delicious. So pleased to dine in a true restaurant rather than another fast food joint. Go there and enjoy.
Initially good service. Ordered steaks medium rare. One was mostly fine, the other was medium to well. Good cut of meat…hungry…and didn’t want to wait for another steak to be cooked, so we told our server this when she checked. Kept a piece to one side so they could show the chef when plates were collected. No response from the chef, which is not the norm in any good restaurant. No apology from anyone. Given dessert menus, but after being left alone for over 15 minutes, decided to leave. Hugely disappointing evening.
You just know that there are real people in the kitchen cooking your order just for you. The server explains how the chef likes to do the lamb, and it arrives looking gorgeous and reportedly had a magnificent taste. Spectacular food, warm atmosphere, and friendly staff made our dinner completely wonderful. The server adapted to our slow pace immediately. I also liked that my unusual order of salad for desert was taken without a twitch of an eye. Of course I picked up that habit from my French Canadian grandfather, so maybe it was a natural event in this truly French restaurant. Each course had careful, unique tastes, and Bistro Moulin was the best restaurant of our vacation. Note: beer and wine only.
Ashton was kind. Rather fancy place. Not good for children. Escargot is very hot. Duck is divine.
