Best 'dive' bar in the area. Good folks and drink. Gotta love the darkness
This bar has been a local favorite for decades.
Drinks aren’t too expensive for my budget, though I’ve heard it can be pretty costly from a couple friends. The younger gentleman bartender never even gave me a second look when I wanted to buy a drink the few times I went up. Bought all 9 of my drinks tonight from the older gentleman. Will most likely not return if only half the bartenders are willing to serve when there’s only half-house occupancyEDIT: I want to mention how amazingly polite the older gentleman bartender is! I’d come back to support this business just for him if my friends didn’t take my comments to heart
I don’t live in Monterey County any more, but I always try to stop by when I am in town. The bartenders are great, but the real gem of the place is their jukebox that has a little of everything.
This place is amazing and Jason is a great person great customer service..great place to chill and hang out and meet greT people
A wonderful escape. Freezing in Monterey at 2pm, and blinded by the overcast glare? Step into this timeless den to let you pupils dilate. Copper and wood, fire and music. The blinds are closed and the hot tottie is just right.
This is a great spot to gather with friends to have a few drinks and sit by the fire. Cozy and great staff. The owner works on Sunday nights and has a wealth of knowledge of the area. Warm and hospitable. A little crowded on weekends but that's expected anywhere in the area.
I’m comfy now as I sit in front of the fireplace and type this but a $16 double whiskey. ?. Maybe would come back. The jury is still out. I have definitely got the best sit in the house for the season.
