Mexicatessen has been around for a long time in the Monterey Park area if you want to eat spicy food that's the place to go prices are very reasonable you could eat a nice lunch for under $10 and they have some great tacos

This is the spot! I’m not sure we’ve ever been able to walk away without ordering $40+ worth of food. But it’s the best, so why fight it.
This Monterey Park institution is famous for their spicy Green Chile Burritos. I got their #8 Burrito plate and it was fantastic. The burrito had some serious heat and the rice & beans tasted fresh and homemade. There are a few tables outside to eat next to the small parking lot. Definitely will be back.
Cashier was very friendly and the food was delicious. Straight forward, homestyle cooking. The carne asada torta was great!Cash only
I didn't see it on menu, but pozole was suggested; was cold today. Ordered it, tacos, tostada, refried beans. All was tasty. I started coming here with my dad in the 60's. Was always a treat!

The absolute best chili Colorado and Chile Verde burritos in the world but watch out for that green! It is also the hottest in the world.
