The skewers and drinks were amazing! The alcoholic drinks were good too!
This is a fun place to enjoy Chinese traditional meat skewers and drink with friends and family. This place is large and has very nice Chinese traditional décor with nice ambience. There is someone singing karaoke at night, and you can let him sing your favorite songs. The foods there are very tasty, but the skewers size portion is on the smaller side per stick than other similar restaurants. However, they do give you 10-20 sticks per order for beef and lamb. I will definitely come back again and recommended this place to everyone.Quick tips: Parking lot is hard to find if you’re coming from the east on Garvey Ave. You will need to park your car at the same parking lot as Taste of MP restaurant. They share the same parking lot (turn right on McPherrin Ave coming from the east on Garvey Ave). Check daily special on the menu for buy one get one free special item (It was oyster May 28th). Must try the mushroom skewers and they are the bomb!
Pricey but something different. It's decent.
Food is over seasoned to drown out the poor cooking....too loud...a young person hangout. Will not go back again...I can cook better at home
Cool concept, and great for large parties! Surprisingly, the intestine was my favorite. The beef soup was also very good! Customer service was decent, accommodating for a large party of 10+.
good price !
Great petite skewers, stick with the fatty stuff and you can't go wrong. Beer goes better with the skewers.
Read some good reviews and decided to give this place a try. I came with my boyfriend on a Thursday night around 5:30pm. There was no wait when we arrived and we got to select any open table. The interior decor was amazing. Loved the old style chinese tavern style. The bar was decorated like the olden style medicine shop and they have alcohol bottle wall and lots of funny signs up. Make sure you try to read all of them. The claw machine was a bit out of place though. There's a chinese chess set in the entrance area. I guess you can wait while you play.Service was good. Someone was available whenever we flagged them down. We ordered the lamb, beef belly, chicken gristle, chicken skin and pork intestine skewers. Skip the lamb. The rest were pretty yummy. My favorite was the pork intestine (very crispy), the chicken gristle and chicken skin, they both had a sweet cumin taste to it. They have a plate designated for skewers that they use candles to keep the skewers warm.We also got the garlic enoki (very flavorful another highlight) and the clam vermicelli (delicious as well). We also ordered the Le Shan Qiao Jian Beef (Small) pot. The beef was good very tender but it was light in taste which is why they provided a sauce that went well with it.We ordered the 3 wine combo which was basically 9 shots of osmanthus, lychee and plum wine (3 each flavor). I like the representation but it didn't really go with the food we were eating. They also provided water in a large jug which is a plus cause I don't like to keep asking for refills.Lastly we ordered the Black sugar fried rice cake for dessert. It was interesting but I don't recommend. The crust was a bit hard but googy on the inside. Overall one of the better skewers place I've been to. Portions on the skewers are small but that's also why you get so many for each order.By the time we left, the place was packed. Parking is street as well as they have a small parking lot shared with another restaurant.I will definitely be back. It's a good place for a group of friends to hang out, eat, drink and chat.
Great place to sit & enjoy Yakitori & flavored sake.
I was attracted to this place based of the décor. Its essential a Chinese BBQ, Bar and karaoke lounge? They have a self serve barsnacks bar(sunflower seeds, popcorn and canned fruits) as well as a Chinese dice drinking game customers can play. I came with my parents and we essentially ordered a little bit of everything. Prices were adequate given the portion sizes but some items were definitely hit or miss. Service was also very friendly and attentive if we needed to flag them down. The stand out dishes are Le Shan Qiao Jiao Beef, Aus. Tiger Prawn, Chicken Gristle and Oyster while the disappointments were the scallop, beef and lamb skewers. Though the 20pc little skewers may be plenty, they're not of great quality and aren't worth it. Get any listed as 10pc instead. If you aren't into alcohol or are the DD, get the 12 shot plum juice instead. Apparently its a traditional drink with this type of food, though I must warn it has smoky taste to it (normal). Also take time and look the art/décor, they're pretty cool. I would definitely come back.
