Excellent food. We got the 4-5 people set menu and had more than enough for 6 people probably! Every dish was different and very tasty.
The food is okay but it’s overpriced. The Peking duck is not so fresh as it’s just warm when it’s served, seems to be in microwaved or something before serving on the table. We went there on weekday but the waiter is still too busy to be friendly or even tell us the name of every dishes. Compared to other restaurants in San Gabriel or Monterey Park, I don’t think it’s a high-value restaurant.
Very bad service by one boss young woman, duck is small portion and is cold. Also tea is cold. And the warp is from refrigerator, ice cold. The soup from the duck bone had no duck taste, also cold. Based on the boss young woman act, they have too much $$, and don't care anymore. The other duck restaurant had all booked, and wouldn't take any more reservations since this morning
Truly excellent Chinese food. This is a wonderful place, the food is nothing short of excellent, and the service is very good. The dining area is small and well appointed and a very pleasant atmosphere to sit and enjoy your food. Each dish we ordered was really great, perfectly seasoned and prepared. The Peking duck was superb and one of the best we've had. We look forward to returning to try some of the other dishes. Totally awesome, highly recommended.
Duck house is a traditional Chinese restaurant. We went on Chinese new years. It was a full house with even some celebrities making a stop. The food was good. We had the duck. The skin is crispy and the meat is tender. Lots of flavors. It went so fast I didnt even have time to take a picture of it. We had a couple more dishes. Some noodles, duck bones, beef, fried rice, all good. The beef was especially good, we should have ordered two dishes but we already had plenty. We where a table of 10, and the dishes that came out fead everyone well, so the portions are a good size. The fish was good, it was deep fried with a sweat sauce. Like I said the food was really good, and once we put our order in the food started coming out pretty quickly. I do have to say, if you want the duck, you have to call in and order ahead, since it takes 12-24hour or so to make. The only knock is that the service is not that great. I mean its expected of traditional Chinese restaurant as from what my Chinese freinds say. Once we ordered, we did not see our waiter ever again until we buzzed him for the bill. It took one of our guest requesting 4 times for water for the table and they brought him 1 cup, lol. They have a $10 corcking fee, so I would advise to bring wines as it would take forever to get another bottle of wine or beer or water from the waiters. All and all it's a great place to try traditional Chinese food and especially Peking duck, which was great.
It's okay so it's hard to give a four stars! 3.5 at best.
Excellent food. This was our second year getting Peking duck takeout for Christmas and it is so delicious and so easy to prepare at home. Be sure to order an extra set of pancakes, sauce, and sides!
I made reservation and ordered Peking Duck in advance for the following day. Here’s what we ordered.Peking Duck, I probably expected too much so I was a bit disappointed. Honestly, it wasn’t that much great. I had Peking Duck better somewhere else.Deep fried fish fillet with fried coconut garlic, it was tasty and flavorful. I really enjoyed every bit I had.Kung Pao Beef, it was good and perfectly spicy.Combination Fried Rice, it was just xoxo not something that I would crave for.Overall it was an OK experience but I would like to give a huge thanks to the female manager who was super nice in explaining about the menu especially one of our friends had gluten allergy.
I love this place. The duck is roasted to perfection. This is a winner!
Only try peking duck. taste normal. nothing special........
