The Monrovia underwent a remodel, and what a change. The restaurant feels more like a sit down experience with an open, friendly environment. Menu is not extensive but hits all the basics and delivers the flavor. A large pizza oven sits out in the open promising authentic pies and a great talking piece. Some of the staff is new but a few veterans are on the floor giving great service (shout out to Derrick). Gluten free options are available and it is right next to one of Monrovia's parking lots. We came for the brunch, we'll come back for the service and Saturday happy hour!
Had Breakfast here and it was very yummy! First time trying this cool restaurant glad I did! Thank you to all staff for your friendly service!Came here twice already to have some of their very amazing pizza! My family and I really love their pizza so delicious and you can watch how they make your pizza so cool. A must to try! Their pastries are very yummy especially with a cup of hot coffee?
Amazing tuna sandwich, with hand made pita! Good pizza, hand made brick oven. Fresh ingredients, Srgt. Peppa. Spicy meatball pizza is really good too!!!. Freshly squeezed orange and great fruit juice. Great service and outdoor seating. Indoor is spacious and clean, beautiful. Highly recommended if near Monrovia! My husband was here as part of a work lunch two days before he brought me back because he was really impressed. The food is really good, but the customer service is fantastic. I rarely leave reviews, but all the servers were really helpful and quick - Michael the owner and pizza guy was especially welcoming. Also - the tiramisu - OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD.
This place is a real gem cannot believe I have not been here sooner found a new place to get the best breakfast yummmm great staff attentive and clean
After being told there was a 2 hour wait at a restaurant right up the street, my friend and I stumbled on The Monrovian. We were seated right away. That was already a plus. Their customer service is stellar. Every server was so pleasant and friendly. I really appreciated that they let us linger and have a proper catch up without rushing us out. The icing on the cake was the gluten free chocolate almond cake. ? I'd never before heard of such deliciousness. Every bite was so tasty. Brunch at the Monrovian was such a treat.
I have never been more disappointed in service as I was today. I totally understand that all places are extremely busy, however, if your check in app is not working and your head waitress sees a group of people, wouldn't it be the thing to check. You take a group who just walked in. When we question why we were bypassed, you get attitude and they tell re-check in is ridiculous! She wouldn't even accommodate said she had a bigger party coming in. She's a blonde with glasses!
Very good place for a brunch spot. I like the uniqueness of a bakery at the first, restaurant in the middle and bar at the back.The front staff could have been a bit more friendlier and welcoming. Food wise, typical American so nothing unique there which was a shame, otherwise I'd highly recommend.
Excellent food and high quality ingredients. The cuisine was top notch. The order did take a while to come out and they did forget to bring out an item. However they were courteous and made sure we were happy. I have to say the Margarita Pizza here is one of the best I've had and I have had Margarita Pizzas from around the world during my travels. It's shocking how perfect the sauce and crust are. I have cravings for this Margarita Pizza.
This place is amazing! The food was outstanding and service was great!! The Monrovian has gotten a completely new look and huge upgrade to the menu. I believe there is a new owner and it shows!!! I went for Sunday brunch and I was thoroughly impressed with the pork shoulder Tamale grits. It was so tasty and packed a lot of flavor. They use a white grit which has such a smooth silky texture. They also have a bakery now which looks amazing. My family already has plans for our next visit because there are so many delicious looking items we want to try.
