For almost 12 bucks I felt I could have had some more ingredients in the burrito. And not rolled up properly. Only a couple of bites had a tiny amount of beer-battered fish. It was mostly coleslaw and black beans. Also, I didn't see any guacamole either. Granted, it's fast food, I understand, and I've had better luck with the blackened mahi mahi option. This time, however, the fish was dried up and the tortilla tasted like it was in the refrigerator a little too long. They did have a sign saying they were short staffed, so maybe that explains why.
I was surprised at the quality of food Rubio is now giving. We ordered chicken tacos and instead got a tortilla with five very small pieces of chicken. We had been loyal customers for over a decade and now I believe we need to try Baja Fresh. Do not waste your money at this location!!!!!
Very nice staff at this location very busy but order was correct and delicious! My favorite the mango mahi mahi tacos, grilled not blackened!
Love Tuesday fish tacos they are amazing ??
Food is generally good, and service is generally fast (except having to wait 45 min once). Unfortunately, they seem to be closed a lot.
Wow, the shrimp tacos are so delicious! The sauces are amazing, not spicy at all (I wish they were but they are still so good)
I have great memories of Rubio's, including when the contractor who has built most of your stores, Larry Eddington, and his family would take his kids and a few of us college kids to the one in La Jolla when we were students at UCSD. I've stuck to your brand and you've seemingly always returned the favor. Until Monday 10/18 that is, when I came in with my daughter from the doctor's to this Rubio's, her one request for the afternoon. I'd recently filled out a corporate survey and had been rewarded with a meager $2 off coupon. It was a multi-use coupon with a 2022 expiration date. Apparently, this was offensive to William (the name listed on my receipt) who said that no such coupon can exist. All Rubio's coupons are single use. He then took the coupon from my hand, saying he would scan it for me. When I asked to get it back he flat out refused. He essentially stole it from me. After we got our order and sat outside, I came back in to get some water and I could tell that he was very obviously talking bad about me with a co-worker then immediately disappeared into the office. I happened to have a photo of the coupon and tried it because I had forgotten to purchase a churro. It didn't exit. He had gone to the office to invalidate my coupon. How petty, how vile, how mean. I'll definitely be telling the people I know in the company about this. Not surprised that Rubio's filed for bankruptcy last year. Never again. How sad that the friendly Rubio's on Lake closed and the one at Paseo has terrible hours and parking. Otherwise we wouldn't be subjected to this one in Monrovia and its mean cashier, William.
Excellent healthy food. It does not make you feel lethargic but very refreshed and the food is always delicious
I used to love this place and it was the go to spot for my daughter and I. Unfortunately over the last few months they have had a huge change in staff for the worse. I used to feel at home and welcome now I feel like I am a bother to the staff. I just left there and had ordered some tacos and asked for them to be placed in a box as I always have, when they are wrapped they get mushy by the time I get home. The person who took the order looked completely confused by my request. After a wait I was told they didn't have boxes and would it be ok to wrap them individually? I asked for my money back and left and will not return unless the owner makes some changes. I don't know why they let all of the nice staff members go but they pretty much cleaned house. This was the most well managed Rubio's I have been to and I have been to quite a few. Now it's at the bottom of the list.
We use to always come here..at least a few times a month. We hadn't been in a while and boy were we disappointed.Fish tacos weren't good.Chicken nachos were awful.Idk what happened.
