This was a cute little spot. It was hot outside so you'd figure the a/c would be on but it wasn't. The food was average, it wasn't anything special but then again I just had the chicken pesto panini. I did love the coffee it was really strong. My daughter's meal was good, chicken nuggets with fruit. And they gave her a good amount of fruit so she was pretty happy.
DO NOT COME HERE.Because I'll need to wait longer in line! This has been my usual for breakfast lately. Honestly a very solid mexibrunch spot. I absolutely enjoy it when I come here. I have reason to believe that their iced coffee de olla is what makes me come back. It's so good! Servers need to give some more attention to customers though, I needed napkins and they kept passing but for some reason when they would pass it seemed as if they were running a track and field race as it didn't give me time to ask them for some napkins! Parking is tough here but you can probably manage to find some most of the time. Absolut place to come back for breakfast
This place was absolutely wonderful. Everything we ate was spectacular. The menu was great. Waffles and pancakes and French toast of all kinds paired with eggs and bacon or sausage and potatoes. I like how the menu is structured. It makes it easy to find and order. There are sweet breads for snacking before the meal and they are great. The food was cooked perfectly. Crispy bacon, perfectly poached eggs, sausages, and the waffle was one of the best I've ever had. Monica, I believe was her name, was a fantastic waitress. We went for an early lunch/late breakfast on a weekday so it wasn't crowded. The place was clean and casual. All in all a great place. Much bigger and more refined than the very small location in Burbank. The pricing was great. We are a lot of food and ended up totalling about 15 dollars a person.
The wait really is the worst part. Food and service are still really great. Menudo and enchiladas are our go to’s and they really get it right here. The carne asada taco was good, but not great. I would save the tacos for the local hole in the walls and get the speciality plates and items here. Coffee is amazing as well, but it should be since that is their name. Make sure to use the on line wait list and be ready to wait a little on weekends, but it’s worth it.
Who knew Monrovia was hiding such an amazing brunch spot? De Olla is tucked away on a street so calm and serene that you'll definitely miss it if you're not looking close enough.I really enjoyed everything about this cafe, from the carts of bread, to the service, and even the plain hot coffee. I got the El Paisano omelet with the has browns and sourdough toast. The sauces that the omelet was covered in were very delicious. My hash brown wasn't really crispy so make sure you ask for them "well done".The cafe gets PACKED closer to lunch time so make sure you either come early or make plans to wait. I got there around 8:30am and had to wait about 15 minutes.Despite the long wait times, the service is excellent. All the waiters are extremely friendly and are always looking to refill your water or coffee.
It was my second visit to dine in at this location. I truly enjoy the very laid back atmosphere and the pan dulce cart that they offer. I ordered the San Ignacio and Chorreadas with asada. I also ordered the Chiccuras plate previously. I will be back to try out the other offerings on the menu.
My wife and I and her dad went to Cafe de Olla to have lunch at Cafe De Olla. This restaurant is very popular with the locals and people who discover it on Yelp. Their food is amazing good rich in flavors and made to order and made from scratch including their Mexican sweet bread.
Thought it would a good place based on the reviews. Unfortunately food was so so but the service street side was the worst. I don’t like to point out people individually but the three bus boy sever and simi-host were three pees in a pod in need of brain collaboration. Poor uncaring and un thoughtful for restaurant service. I was always told if you don’t have anything good to say then don’t say anything so I will end it here. Pathetic.
Not impressed. Food is ok but overpriced. Customer service needs improvement and coordination. Three people with the cashier and can’t answer one question.
Everyone tried something different and were happy. Friendly staff and servers. Worth the wait if you arrive during busy times. I ordered the home fries extra crispy. Definitely returning!
