Me and my wife liked the Ramen hear. We had nothing bad to say about them. Until today. The Manager was very rude to a young employee. She had the poor girl in tears right in front of us with no shame that she was belittling her not professional at all. I don't know what the young lady had did to deserve this. But that's beside the point. And you can tell all the employees are scared of the Manager. You don't treat people like this. As much as we like the food we would have to think twice before we come hear again. That's too bad......... .... Update she responded by saying it was a professional conversation between her and the young lady and no one else. And the conversation was in the front of the restaurant loud enough for us to notice what was going on she had her crying. I don't think it was professional at all but I guess that's my opinion. I will not be going back after her response..
I have eaten here on a few occasions. My first visit was ok at best. The food lacked flavor and the broth was not very developed. However, it has gotten quite a bit better since then. I am not sure what they did, but as time has passed the broth quality and overall food quality has gone up. This is now my go to Ramen spot here in Modesto.
Ramen 101 is located in the Super WalMart parking lot. A small spot with about 8 tables for dine in. I decided to try the Shoyu Ramen medium spice and my daughter had the Miso Ramen mild spice. My first time trying the Shoyu which is soy sauce based broth, and was surprised to find it was on the bland side. My daughter's Miso was much more flavorful. Nice thick pieces of pork belly in the Ramen and very good portions served in large bowls. We also ordered Gyoza and Crab Rangoon which were both hot, crispy, and delicious with additional sauce packets for each item. Prices are good for Ramen and they have many other menu items including Hawaiian BBQ, teriyaki chicken, and lumpia! So even if you aren't feeling Ramen there will be something you can enjoy! I will definitely be back to try the Tonkotsu Ramen and some of the other menu items!
Amazing experience!! 10/10Staff was super friendly and accomidating for being a such a small location and how busy it was during dinner and the food was amazing as always and super super fast. Definitely recommend the ***black garlic ramen***[picture added] and the Hawaiian bbq mix !!Some times they don't have seating available but they do have a wait list you can be added on if you walk in. You just CAN NOT call in advance to reserve seating or tables. Definitely a first come first serve place.Surprisingly!!!!.. for not being an actual restraunt (meaning no specified table servers or waiters/waitresses) [you order your own food pay and then they seat you like fast food restraunts] the Staff still takes care of you as much as possible. They try to engage with you and make sure your taken care of .The flavor of the food is amazing and it comes out pretty quick. Your eyes Definitely will be bigger then your stomach. The portion of ramen is huge and always have left overs for later. The vibe of the place is always welcoming and chill Definitely a nice little hidden jem in modesto . A cool place to kick it with some friends.
1st time trying the food here, my buddy highly recommended it ...I can see why he likes it soo much. It was so good we will have to try everything on the menu. The food was freaking delicious and the service was outstanding!??
My husband and I tried out the Ramen 101 in Modesto Ca and I must say that I was really impressed with the food.I loved Hawaiian Barbecue and will definitely be back again to try something new.
Food was good. Ordered the Tonkotsu and vegetable Ramen. I would get them spicier for a little more flavor.
The food is very good here but over all the customer service is very bad , the girl at the register always seem so upset rushes you to order and over all makes you not want to even eat there. I really love the ramen there and unfortunately it’s the only one around , my boyfriend and I always have a conflict of who goes and gets the food there because he hates dealing with girl with really poor attitude at the register. As a business owner I would do a change or simply ask why she doesn’t treat customers with a better attitude.
Extremely tasty food at a reasonable price. It is good to have more ramen shops around the area. They have other food as well if you are with friends who do not want ramen. Staff was super nice. Will definetly be back.
Amazing food ! Was too hot out for Ramen when we went, so decided to get Hawaiian lunch plates. (I am looking forward to trying the ramen this winter. Looks bomb ! )Hawaiian plates were WAY better thanL & L or Ono here locally. Chicken Katsu was fresh and full of flavor, and my wife loved her fried white fish. Will def return. Maybe not as good as the 808 but for the 209, its on point !
