memos is not a good restaurant the staff needs to have manners I will make sure to tell my friends and the social media never go to this place and eat they are rude and incompetent
We had drinks and chips only but had a great time. Next time I want to try the food but we ate at another restaurant beforehand. My friend and I have been wanting to check this place out since they opened so there was a lot of anticipation. The newness was exciting and I loved the interior. I can't wait to try their food. The chips and salsa was the best. Really, I'm serious the chips were crisp, salty not from a bag and just lovely.I started with the Pura Vida margarita which is puddled pineapple with coconut water + tequila + lime juice and a sugared rim. I loved it and wanted another but decided to go crazy and try a flight of tequila. I'm familiar with a wine flight but a tequila flight...I knew I was asking for it. Luckily my friend helped me finish it!
Won’t be back. The food was good, but the service was lacking. Also, I ordered the Mexi-Tini three different times. Each time, the drink was made differently and seemed to get smaller. Not worth your time or your money….
We love Memo's in Turlock, and the New Modesto location is very nice! Glad it's Not in the Downtown area! Similar Vibe to Turlock. Wait staff was Very Friendly, Food Spot on Delicious!
I was really excited to try this place because it looked very trendy with a great ambience. The bar is beautiful and drinks are good! However, we were sadly let down as the food was not good at all. Completely non-authentic Mexican food. The meat was unbelievably dry, sauce on enchiladas has no taste. Salsa tasted store bought. Don’t think I’ll be returning unless it’s solely for a few drinks at the bar. Our bus boy was awesome and much more helpful than the server. This place has great potential so I hope they re-evaluate the menu and food supply soon to turn things around.
I enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. Great friendly customer service. My fish meal was very tasty. My fish was nice and flaky. The decor of the place was fabulous. Can't wait to go again and enjoy this place.
Unfortunately Memo’s needs a lot of improvement. Yes it is new and will be the trendy place to go for a while, but trendy doesn’t substitute for service and quality if they don’t get it together. Hostess did not seem remotely interested in seating us even though there was no one else waiting. We came by for some drinks with a friend as it is walking distance from both of our homes. Drinks were okay but do not warrant the prices they charge. For $16.50 in Modesto California, it better be the best margarita in town which it is not even close. Around 8:45pm, the server came to our table and announced it was last call for alcohol. We said thank you and ordered another round. He came back about 5 minutes later and said oops, too late to get those last drinks I’ll bring you the check. We all looked at each other rather surprised. The bartenders were pouring drinks at that exact moment. Our table faced the bar, it was happening right in front of us. We were clearly not intoxicated. 5 total drinks for 3 people in almost two hours is reasonable. It’s really too bad they are not better especially since it is a ten minute walk away. The place is beautiful and has potential.
Not a fan of the food here. The chips were kinda stale and the mashed black bean dip did not look appetizing at all! I mean the environment was well lit and clean, but the food here is NOT that traditional Tasty Mexican Food. They have a wide range of Tequila and other alcohol beverages, so I guess that part is great. It's just SUPER PRICEY for what you get! And, the servers here were just meh!!! Very SLOW AND missing when you needed them! I WAS NOT IMPRESSED!!!
First time going to Memos in Modesto. The service was spectacular ? my wife and I had asada nachos and enjoyed a couple drinks at the bar. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a place to wind down after a long day.
Pros and cons. I asked them to make sure the dishes I ordered had no gluten or dairy due to allergy and I survived. The server double checked with me on one item - really appreciated. Definite pro. Unfortunately, practically everything else was underwhelming or wrong. We had to ask for plates for appetizers, napkins, utensils... yes, we were given 1 fork to start, but we used it on appetizers and then had to wait for someone to bring silverware with dinner. Or like the guac - no serving spoon (are we supposed to use our dirty forks?). Everyone who ordered salad was very confused that there was practically no lettuce (?). The fish tacos had no flavor. The tableside guac served not very many (we should have ordered 2+ for a table of 5 adults - it was like, 1 heaping tablespoon maybe per person...). Drinks ordered were a cluster - the first round was wrong, then people got more wrong drinks but gave up and just drank them. Mine was a simple classic that they ruined with fizzy water and same thing - it was taking so long that I just dealt with it rather than send it back. There's only so much you can excuse due to a busy night. The rest is just... well, we tried it, and don't need to go back. Everyone on staff was very nice so it's a shame.
