This restaurant has very interesting decor. There are bears everywhere both inside and outside. They made our meal much more enjoyable. And the menus are printed like an old time newspaper. The food was OK.

My husband and I came here for dinner and the food was fairly decent.Three complaints:The time it took our waitress to do anything was excruciating. Was easily a 30 minute wait for a Cobb Salad and Stuffed French Toast which was excessive.Price. 3 pieces of blackberry stuffed french toast, small serving of fruit, and some whipped cream was $15+. A Cobb salad was $17+ and my husband it was meh, he wasn't unpleased but wasn't blown away either.

First time at this Black Bear Diner. I ordered the patty melt and fries. Both were delicious and fresh. My gf ordered the biscuits and gravy that were good. The staff was nice and friendly, always checking up on us and making sure our waters were full. The food filled us up that we didn’t have enough room for dessert, so will definitely be back for some pie in the near future.

We had a late breakfast at this location. It’s was okay a okay experience, service was slightly slow but good food. Thanks

We went there after a hike at mission peak. We were very hungry. We ordered a vegetarian omelet and a Shasta vegetarian scramble. Portions are very good. They come with sides and choice of toast. The server said we could replace the toast with one pancake. I felt the replacement of toast with pancakes was an awesome deal. The country red potatoes on the side weren't that good. We were so hungry after a four hour hike we just gobbled everything.

This is by far the best blackbear diner I’ve ever been to. The host/ waitress Samantha was absolutely amazing! A very sweet, attentive young lady and quick too.. The food was absolutely perfect the portions are huge and definitely worth every penny. By far the best place to go to in Milpitas must go there if you haven’t. This place feels like home.

Terrible service. I had to call the diner via telephone to get service as our server forgot about us. This was at the Milpitas Black Bear Diner.

Friendly staff. Nice ambience. Good location. The food was not tasty enough. Everything tasted slightly bitter. Would rather have breakfast at iHop which is nearby.

Awesome woodsy cabin diner vibes. Great prices for all types of different comfort food. Also the staff is always friendly.

This is definitely a North California staple and a one of a kind diner worth visiting! It's basically a local version of Denny's with log cabin upper mid-west vibes. The bear decor and newspaper article style menu is simply delightful and quite refreshing for those with Adirondack and No-Cal experience with nature and the great outback. It was my first time here and came in by myself on a Saturday between 2-4pm. It was a great overall experience but I was greeted by a server who asked "May I help you?" Instead of asking if I was a party of one or just seating me which was weird, awkward and made me feel a little unwelcomed and the reason why this review gets 4 stars. However, I'm going to discount the fact that I was dressed in "relaxed" clothing ( I walked from my hotel room and decided to grab a bite while my room was getting cleaned) and the server was kinda young and may be a little new as the reason for that exchange. The appearance was neat and clean not too crowded. I was seen immediately and my food came out fast. The rest of the staff was busy yet nice and chill. The huckleberry lemonade is off the hook and the food I ordered was really good too! The rest of the menu was a bit pricey but had a lot of options as you can tell from my photos. If you see this place in passing and want that down home experience give this place a try!
