Nice course, great views, and quite difficult. I would expect a bit better maintenance for the price. A lot of dirt instead of rough.
they have great practice facility. the staff is really helpful and patient. the course really tests your golf game because of the hills, high winds, and especially greens. they have quite a lot of programs for kids, very exciting to see the next generation of golf.
New management really turned around this Bay View course to much better condition and operation. My buddies and I enjoy the fact that the layout is unique and every game is different - never a boring round here. Ball placement and course management is key to scoring well. Food quality has improved tremendously from previous summit pointe, with nice seating area on terrace with great view. New carts with GPS are excellent. Proshop staff are friendly, as are the restaurant staff.
The GYRE restaurant at Bay View offers a nice variety of Asian Fusion Cuisine, as well as a Golfer's Classic Menu. We dove right into the "fusion" and we're rewarded with truly tasty food made with visibly fresh ingredients. We can definitely recommend the Karaage Chicken Wrap and the Crunchy Thai Salad (with the grilled chicken add-on)! The portions were quite large and the prices very reasonable. The outdoor dining view was wonderful, accompanied by a light and cooling breeze, and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Well worth the few minutes of driving to rise into the Milpitas hills for a relaxing and comfortable meal. We will definitely dine here again!
First time on this course and had a great time with my husband, brother in law and two other guys. The course was beautiful and very challenging! Enjoyed every minute of the 4 & a half hours of golfing.
We had an event at this facility and I must say, I found their event management dealing to be C grade. Only good thing about this place are picturesque views. I found their dealing to be quite unethical too.We made our event reservation a while ago and the person who helped us (James) left without any notice and no one had decency and professionalism to get back to us before our event. We had to contact them to get an update on event planning. There were things that were part of the deal that were not honored. My mistake that I didn't put every single minute thing on contract and took things at honor value. Be very careful with these folks about contracts. For example, they were supposed to give us tower heater and the event manager completely ignored it even though it was cold. He ended opening the table heater when we insisted. We were told that we will get round tables but this new guy tried to give us regular rectangle table. It was after I went firm at the guy, he agreed to give us round tables. On top of that he sounded as if he was giving us a favor.Set up was not well done either. Linens given to us were wrinkled. They did not put proper glasses and water pitcher at the table. We had to ask for it. It was windy so linen kept flying off. No decency to address that situation.Overall, quality of hosting and attention to detail was simply poor. This current event manager was quite rude at times. Not even once had a courtesy to come and ask us how the event was. Always sounded as if he was doing us a favor. Never thanked us for giving him the business. I would never deal with this kind of person. The previous guy, James, at least had a courteous attitude. Will not recommend this place again.
I stopped playing Summitpointe years ago because it was so poorly kept. I decided to try again now that it's under new management. It's still a quirky place with many slopping fairways that cause you to hit far to one side, even out of bounds to get the ball to roll into the fairway. Fairways need some work, especially on the front 9. Back 9 is prettier but we got very annoyed at the auto shut down of carts when nearing the edges of the fairways. On one hole, I think it was 12 or 14, the cart shut down when on the left HALF of the fairway. This was annoying and should be corrected with fairways so narrow. Over all a good value. We will come back as most courses in the South Bay are packed. Bay View was easy to get on and even had to switch our tee time with no problem. Good staff, were very helpful and very good food at the restaurant and bar. The place is getting better!
This awesome hidden gem is in such a beautiful location with an amazing golf club, had a wonderful time with the Rotary club of Milpitas! Amazing folks to hang out with!
Maybe 3.5-4 stars but my buddies like this place and most weekdays the pace is very good but weekends can be slow.Straight hitters do well here although some challenging holes with side hill lies and slope on #2, 4, 8 and 11. Tricky, fast greens on certain holes like #2, 3, 8 and a couple on back 9 like 12, 13 and 17 could also cause problems if you misjudge them on approach and putts. If my game is off, those holes lead to big scores but can be offset by shooting well on some of the short par 4s and 5s.After a round, enjoy the nice selection of beers and Asian fusion bites. Servers are generally pleasant but can be slow at times so be patient.
Played this course back when it was Summitpointe and I always disliked the layout. Under new management I like the way this course is heading. Nice food at the turn, a very cool point system club to keep you coming back, and a nice staff. This place could be back on the up and up.One suggestion to the team, invest in some signs for each of the holes. Just a simple hole number and yardage would really class up the joint.
