The chicken meal was okay, because the chicken was a bit dry. The overall taste of biryani was good. This place gets super busy on weekends for dine in and the order takes time to be served.
The photos is below average for the Bay Area. We ordered mainly Indian Chinese dishes which had very little taste. The chikoo milkshake is really good and a must try. The staff is courteous but the service is extremely slow. They have a robot that serves you the food which is kind of cool.
The quality of the food from this restaurant has gone to the worst. It used to be good before the pandemic but looks like greed has taken over. I ordered a pretty big takeout totalling $170 and the quantity was hardly enough for 3-4 people. The quantity was so less especially for fried rice that it was hardly sufficient for one person. Mind you the price was almost 1.5 times any other similar place. We did the mistake that we did not check the quantity while picking it up and when we went back to the restaurant with 2 boxes after realizing at home, they refused to give a good enough explanation for the quantity. They offered to refund back only for those 2 boxes but only after taking the food back. I have never seen a restaurant take the food back. More than anything the remaining food quality was sub par and one of the appetizer didn't even taste fresh and felt pretty stale.Avoid this place. This is no longer a good restaurant and quality is pretty bad for the price paid.
Excellent service and excellent food. The staff was so sweet. They have a wide range of south Indian food.Ediyappam with coconut milk isna must try ??
Not so great. It is okay quality. E.g pepper chicken dry only tasted pepper nothing else. Lollipop chicken was good.
I suspect if you relish the cuisine you will love it. It was spicy but i was not prepared for it.Service was non existent (covid related staff shortage i assume). They had a robotic delivery bot which was very innovative
I liked the food here however I visited this place after 3 years and was surprised to observe the price hike and quantity reduction. Usually I see only prices going up. Anyways, food consistency is maintained by this place so it was not total shocker. Their filter coffee was great and would visit this place again just for that. I would recommend this place for good south Indian food.
We have been to Anjappar in various other places like Dubai, New Jersey and Doha. Since we had a great experience, we decided that we would give this Anjappar branch in Milpitas a try this time. The restaurant was not crowded at all for a Sunday evening. We were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered the Chappathi/ Chettinad Chicken combo and the Appam/ Mutton Masala combo. The order was served very quickly. The chicken was very tasty and well cooked and the flavors were just the right proportions. The chappathi on the other hand was not so soft. It was too much on the dry side and was so so. Chapathis should be soft but that was not the case. The mutton masala was very salty and to top it off, the appam was very under cooked. When we mentioned this to the guy who waited on us, he did offer to get a new appam for us but we declined. The two star is for their customer service but as far as the food, I am not sure if this Anjappar has lived up to the reputation of the south Indian restaurant chain.
Never again. Gave this place a second chance. Nope. If you see the picture of the aappam, you can see clearly how raw the dough was. Thicker than dosa, no crispy edges. Mutton masala was salty. The parottas were totally thick & difficult to tear by hand. Chettinad chicken masala was ok. Total waste of money. It’s better to have good food at Aappakadai than go to this Anjappar. Disappointed.
The Authenticity of Chettinad Cuisine is A Standard you can indeed expect to taste at this restaurant. I tried their “Popular Non Veg Thali” & a Fried Fish. It was All Good & The service and ambience too!
