It’s tough to really find authentic Hubei food. But this place has it on the spot. I recommend the Wuhan Bean Skin (NOT what it sounds like, it’s sticky rice with tofu skin) and Dry Fried Whole Fish.
Authentic Wuhan foods.Recommend the fried sweet potato pancakes (红苕面窝） It can be more crispy although.The bean egg wrapper (豆皮）is also famous in Wuhan and is a must.Wuhan hot noddle (热干面）seems a little bit different from what I had in Wuhan. But it’s still very good and close to the original Wuhan style.We ordered the salt bean milk and it was tasted a little bit bitter. We asked the waitress and the owner why it tasted that way. They had no idea, but offered us the sweet bean milk instead.

Thia is a cozy place with very good service. The food is home cooked. Family run operation. The servings are big. Watchout.
Being an international student who comes from Hubei China, I am so excited to find out this homey taste restaurant. All of dishes we ordered are delicious and taste exactly the same as in my memory. I told all of my friends around this area to check it out!

My sister and I loved the service and food(East Lake eggplant fish/green onion pancakes/potstickers/fried green beans) were incredible)!! Besides the excellentHubei food, the service by the attractive/sweet waitress and owner make this restaurant a winner.(I’m ABC from Minnesota but have been to China many times(recently taught English at Suzhou U) and trying to learn Mandarin(mom from Xiamen, dad from Suzhou), both grew up in Taipei and met at Tai Da.

The food is great and service is excellent. The owner is a very hardworking lady. From Hubei with good food. Hope they could do well after Covid.
