Our first time there and we will absolutely be back! Friendly and helpful staff, clean restaurant and good food!
My boyfriend and I visited Merced for a few days for his niece's high school graduation. We hit the town for some good eats. He had eaten at J & R Tacos in years past. He brought me for fish tacos at lunch time. We had such a splendid lunch dining experience that he invited his niece and her family out for dinner that same evening. For dinner, I ordered the sampler with one chicken Huarache, one seasonal veggie Empanada, and one more fish taco with green sauce and a side of Spanish rice and beans. I had never tried a Huarache or Empanada before and I was pleasantly surprised! We will be back next time we're in the area!

They have the absolute best quality food and service in Merced. I enjoy getting the vegan burrito with a side of beans and rice with guacamole. The food is always fresh and sometimes they have specials on drinks buy one get one free. Hands down best place to go before seeing a movie around the corner. Plus you can get dessert after at the coldstone creamery next door. The outdoor patio is a wonderful place to enjoy your meal. They also have a lot of nice art and clean booths inside. Only bummer is they don't stay open very late, so make sure to get there early.
Enchiladas were latterly cold inside. Taco shells were soggy, and when the Enchiladas came back for round 2 the sauce tasted like tomato sauce from a dollar store can. Absolutely gross will not come back
Best vegan tofu al pastor tacos I've ever had and they really hook them up too.Plus one of the only places I can actually have the rice and beans at as well, just wish I lived closer.
Great meal, friendly service, but the only thing that I believe would serve this resteruant better is if it was a full service resteraunt rather than set up like a self serve establishment. Overall, food and service offered was spectacular.

The food here is so good that its hard NOT to stop by or order from every time I come into town. The Staff is also very nice and friendly.
Do not go here. Worst place to get Mexican food. First off I ordered a dozen of their tamales and they only gave me 9. When we tried the chili Verde ones it was undercooked mooshy and no flavor at all. Then we opened a chicken one and a horrible smell came out we didn't ever bother to try it. The beans were to salty and the rice was the only thing that was decent. I called and the guy had me on hold for few minutes then came back to tell me they forgot to pack the rest of the tamales and they could just give me a refund of the missing food. Do not go here its expensive with horrible food.
