While staying at the Hotel Nia we were spoiled by some of the hotel's restaurant staff, most especially Cristian.Cristian also took the time to point out interesting details about the restaurant's design details that we'd likely have missed. Most appreciated!Even if you're not in the hotel, this is a lovely unexpected Oasis for stopping in for a coffee or meal, on you own, with friends or colleagues. The gardens are well cared for, diverse and full of nature. Ignacio was gracious when talking about the gardens, then later making quick adjustments in our room.Though like many places, the staff are fairly new, they are clearly putting together a great team! You won't even notice your proximity to the freeway.
Watching the construction of this toney, boutique hotel I was curious to check it out once it opened. Overall, the appearance and ambiance did not disappoint We met friends there for dinner at the Porta Blu restaurant. The restaurant mirrors the pleasant hotel design. Other than the fact that it took over 20 minutes to get our cocktails in a virtually empty restaurant (we arrived early) and the waiter in training murdered the wine bottle cork the service was very good and the wait staff very friendly. We all enjoyed our entrees. My bouillabaisse was delicious, the hamburger was generous and cooked perfectly as was the salmon, the Bucatini was tasty and the sauce developed deep earthy flavors. Overall, a very nice meal.
Great Atmosphere, Delicious Food and Cocktails, and Amazing Service to match.
The ambience for a Friday night double date was great but the food and drinks was sub par and questionable. I ordered niçoise salad. It was Roman lettuce with dressing drizzled over. That’s it. There was nothing about this salad that made it niçoise or justified it costing $32. The menu shows NIÇOISE SALAD soft egg, haricot verts, seared tuna, none of these toppings were on the salad. We also ordered the steak STEAK TARTARE—tasted ok but we noticed that some parts of the raw meat was brown, that doesn’t seem right for fresh uncooked beef. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for decent dining. Maybe happy hour is a better.
Beautiful restaurant, but I asked to change my seat twice (very uncomfortable), nobody did anything. Also ordered a steak , the knife was super old , and the drinks were just regular.
Wonderful atmosphere, great service. The food was great too. Perfect for business casual, friends gathering dining
Very comfortable outdoor setting. Small but nice menu
Cocktail glasses and menus weren’t cleared, food was late, staff were rushing around. Doors to the outside were left open as waiters served outdoor diners creating a draft and lower temperature in the dining room.
food was cold.
EJ was a very well trained, attentive server. manager Neftal was on the ball. Great experience.
