We had an amazing lunch!! Food quality (delicious), service, setting in the outdoor courtyard all excellent. So inviting and relaxing. A great way for two dear friends to catch up. Anna, our server was great!! Thank you Menlo Tavern.
What a special treat! We only recently found out that this long time local favorite has transformed into the place to be!With live music every day from 6-9pm with various musical acts sure to delight every guest looking for live music in a charming courtyard venue. The food was delicious and the service was attentive and outstanding!Be sure to check out the 11 person band Wobbly World and a Tuesday evening for truly global musical experience!
We had a wonderful time at Menlo Tavern. One of the best Patios for outdoor dinning in Menlo Park! Outstanding food, beautiful ambience and great service!
We had a lovely dinner at Menlo Tavern! The courtyard is beautiful and tables are generously spaced apart. Service was prompt and very friendly. The food was quite good and drinks were excellent as well. We appreciated that the menu was clearly labeled for GF options and possible accommodations. We will definitely return!
My family and I went to Menlo Tavern for the first time in a long while. You should know before you go that they have a nice outdoor courtyard and we were lucky to have live music by BWGuitar (donât remember his name) but the music was nice! BUT the wait staff was not friendly, they literally cleared plates while we were still eating. Twice I had to ask them to stop, as they had the plates in their hand as we were still holding forks. It was so bizarre! Next, the food was decent but nothing amazing or special and the price was a shock! They automatically charge 20% gratuity + $50 living wage on top of hefty menu prices AND then they still have a line for added tip! The mediocre dinner ended up costing so much that we wonât be coming here again soon. Maybe this is normal for a hotel restaurant but I was unaware and wanted to share my experience for others who may not know.
Breakfast: $94.00 (included a mandated (though not disclosed by the waiter) 20% tip: regular eggs, bacon, black coffee . toast and one orange juice for two people ---------this isn't inflation, this is highway robbery. There were only a few people in the restaurant - with those prices, there should be none.
Nice outdoor setting. Good food. Great service. We went on a Tuesday night and it apparently band night. 11 musicians and singers generating Samba music. Way, way too loud for the space!
Tuesday night Band took almost an hour to warm up and tune their instruments past the time when they were supposed to start
This is our go to place. The ambience is amazing with the large fire pits and the great bands they have every night (in the summer). We often come here just to sit at the fire pits, listen to music, grab some drinks and food/snacks, etc. The food is great as a full menu can be ordered at the fire pits or at the proper seating area. If going for dinner and want to be seated outside, I’d recommend booking reservations as can sell out. Highly recommend as definitely a hidden gem in Menlo Park / Palo Alto.
By far the best meal and atmosphere you will find in Palo Alto Area. The Cocktails were made perfect only to be toped by the meal and the ambiance. The Courtyard is like a secret garden. When my wife and I came in there were market lights, a beautiful fountain, musician and people eating around fire pits all in the heart of PA. My wife is gluten free and had , as she described, the best rissoto of her life as well as hearty butter lettuce salda. i had the lamb shank and burrata all were made to perfection. We couldn't decide on desert so the fantastic staff brought us out sharing plates and let us sample some of the treats. This is a MUST if you are in the area. It is also a great spot to meet friends for drinks because the outdoor vibe and music is fantastic.
