Quite good Hawaiian food in an niche location in Menlo Park. They have a variety in of options and the provide a good amount at a very fair price!
This isn't so much a review of their food. But let's talk about that for a sec. I don't know how theyre able to carry the same JJ Hawaiian BBQ name but this shop is not the J&J that we're accustomed to. This is a shop for cheap Chinese food. So if you're in for cheap, greasy, sugar and salt laden Chinese l then this will fill that craving. But I do want to address something that disturbed me. I wanted to use the bathroom that was locked with a code. But this lady, who seemed like a homeless with a small dog, was before me who also wanted to use the bathroom which apparently was given a code that didn't work. And this person did order something and was a legitimate customer. The woman who worked behind the counter completely ignored the lady who wanted to use the bathroom like as though she didn't exist. So while I was waiting for my food to be prepped, I asked the woman for the bathroom code because I wanted to use the bathroom before I eat. What I was hoping was for the lady to hear the code so this is poor lady and her dog could use the bathroom. Then the woman behind the counter blatantly lied in cold demeanor and told me that the bathroom is out of order. She could have said the same thing to this poor lady that was needing the bathroom. Instead she chose to ignore the poor human as though she didn't exist. At that point I canceled my order and left with disgust for how the people run things here. I will not cater to a business, especially eat their food, that's apathetic and downright mean to one who's most desperate... And this lady was a customer. It totally disgusted me. #$&& this dive.
Good food. Both for lunch and or dinner. Fair pricing.
This is a pretty decent option for Chinese cuisine if you need to save a little and gain a whole lot of food. There's been many times where I wouldn't be able to finish all the food provided. Just right off the Caltrain station in Menlo Park. The main reason why I'm giving this restaurant 4 stars only is because the indoor dining has no attraction appeal, as I order my food to go often and the bathroom is not kept clean.
First, this place looks like a war zone with the life back to normal. Place was disorganized and dirty and I as was waiting in the line I needed to use the restroom and as I request the code to open the restroom door the lady told “restrooms only for customers” and I responded that I was going to order but needed to use the restroom right now and she was like okay I’ll give you the code after you order. I thank her and left. Didn’t feel good about this Hawaiian bbq store since the beginning and what happened just confirmed the poor service and lack of hygiene found there. Go to L&L Hawaiian BBQ instead. You can’t go wrong with that….
So much food for your money. Literally bought twice as much food as needed for four despite only ordering four entrees. Very good quality, and the leftovers were fantastic.
I went because it said Hawaiian BBQ.I found nothing of the sorts. If you're looking for cheap Chinese food, this is a good spot.If you're looking for Hawaiian BBQ then you want L&Lstay away from J&J
Cheap fast and easy. Hard to get this kind of food in the bay area. Portions are massive. It's not gourmet or anything but it hits the spot.
