When my son was young, we would stop by Pink Pastry/Gerry's Cakes and get a slice of strawberry shortcake. We all loved it. Well he was having his 40th birthday and I was asked to bring dessert. So of course I brought a strawberry cake with whip cream frosting. Everyone raved about it.My son-in-law told me they have been searching for a bakery around Danville and striking out. I guess they'll have to come to Menlo Park to get the best cakes.
Had the red velvet and it was delicious. Not too sweet but was still tasty. Excited to try the other available confections!
I bought three red velvet cupcakes today. They were$3 each, small and probably had been in the case for a week. Dry, hard and inedible!! I’ll never step in those doors again!
Breakfast pastries were good. Just use some discrection in what you pick -- one of the cupcakes was the last of it's kind and was very dry, a bit hard, and tasted like it had been in the display for quite some time. Expensive mistake at $3 per cupcake.

I ordered a birthday cake from Gerry. The cake was delicious and the service outstanding! Gerry answered my numerous calls and questions and was unfailingly patient and polite. He was even willing to accommodate a last minute change in the order when we realized more guests might be showing up. I also bought other scrumptious goodies in the store when I picked up the birthday cake. I am going to be a frequent customer!
Gerry’s Cakes is my go-to cake shop for custom-made cakes and pastries! Their red velvet layered cake is amazing, and all the filling and icing is customizable for no extra charge. I also love their cute cupcake designs and corn muffins! The corn muffins are always very moist and tasty. Highly recommend!
Ordered a cake that I had made for 29 years in Miami. I asked Gerry to take the baton to make it for my daughter’s 30th birthday during Covid-19 in Menlo Park. My daughter was thrilled!
They have lovely cupcakes. Reasonable prices for the area as well.
