Chef Kwans (previously Su Hong) is legendary for good Bay Area Chinese food. Calling in to order is quick and prices reasonable. Food is always ready super fast so you never have to wait. Hot, tasty, and never had an issue. Went to Chef Kwan‘s for the first time and ordered vegetable chow mein with cream cheese wontons. Lots of parking near Trader Joe’s in the back. Appropriately socially distanced in the lobby. A few little tables to sit. Specifically asked if the wontons were vegetarian and was told that they have egg, but other than that would be okay. Well, actually, they have crab— which I don’t consider vegetarian. Really big bummer. The noodles were all right, but tasted very black peppery. Probably would not return here, unfortunately.
All time favorite! Go to place for comfort Chinese food. Been coming here for over 15 years. Prices are super reasonable. Service is fast. Good selection on the menu. It's mostly a take out place - so don't expect to dine in.
Mongolien Beef warning ! The receipe here has nothing to do with usual Mongolian Beef in other restaurants in the area. It comes with carrots and celery. Why? The Mongolian Lamb seems to have the expected green onions and chili peppers. Very disappointed when opening the carry out back home. Large pieces of beef instead of thin slices. It tastes fine but nothing to do with expectations. I should have read the online description I guess, my bad. But if you are keeping the receipe for the lamb dish, why change it for the beef?
We had the House Beef and Sauteed String Beans for the first time tonight and I have a feeling this is going to be one of our go-to take outs.
Great place to order Togo’s. Not many seatings/ nor atmosphere to eat in the restaurant, but also, you save the cost. Only one guy takes your order, while all 7 other guys and girls work hard in the kitchen, absolutely worth the money. I ordered a Kong po chicken for 12 dollar, it is like lunch and dinner, that’s how much they offer.
