Food is great, a little over-priced but makes for a good casual date night. service staff seem kind of stressed
One of the best spots in the bay! Amazing food and killer drinks. The staff is also super friendly and accommodating.
Celebrated our 21st anniversary here with our kids (teenagers) and had an absolutely fantastic evening of dining excellence and fun. Looking so forward to coming back as soon as possible and my wife also now looking to book her annual staff outing here.
Weâve been to Camper a number of times. Always excellent, especially outdoors.
Camper is the place we take all of our out-of-town visitors. They truly have something for everyone, without the menu being overwhelming. The food is always very high-quality. You can tell a lot of thought goes into the ingredients and the presentation. The atmosphere is special without being stuffy. We like that they have abundant outdoor seating, since we aren't yet comfortable dining indoors; they are also kid-friendly and dog-friendly. We think it has the best bar selection in Menlo Park right now.
Great service and delicious food. Brunch was fantastic. Recommend the French toast and morning bun, breakfast sandwich was also great!
A lot of promise that didn't quite deliver: nice ambiance with outdoor and indoor seating in lovely Menlo Park, and the food was overall good, not great. The pork ragu needed more differentiation in flavor to make it something more than what one could do at home, yet the flatiron steak mole and burratta appetizer were outstanding. What tempered the experience was the service. Waited 10 minutes to be sat, not because of a line but because there was no one attending the host station. And our server needed constant reminding: for beer, water, and bread. Having to be vigilant about whether your server remembers your order definitely dampens one's enthusiasm.
I found Camper on the Michelin guide and was happy to find a reservation easily. And so glad I did, because the food was phenomenal. I ordered the agnolotti pasta dish and I'm still thinking about it, weeks later, and have already made another reservation to go back with more people so I can try more dishes!Update - visited again and the menu was entirely different! It was great to see a restaurant focus on in-season produce. We tried a different (duck confit) agnolotti dish available this time and it was exquisite as well. Highly recommend it to everyone!
I ate a little bit from across the entire menu. Not one dish disappointed. Very impressed with the meal and the drinks. Definitely worth the visit if you are looking for a new place to dine.
I've visited CAMPER previously and in general I would recommend it. But on this occasion, I was underwhelmed - maybe because it was a Monday? The (mostly) good: We were seated in their outdoor parklet which doesn't match the indoor ambiance but doesn't do a bad job of feeling cozy. Two of us had the gazpacho which was excellent; two of us had the bucatini which was ok: a bit drowned in the sauce which sounded interesting as described but was basically a sort of pesto (redeemed by the dollop of stracciatella cheese on top ). One of us had the salmon, not bad but a bit pedestrian for the price. And our fourth enjoyed the garbanzo bean panisse (a dumpling a bit like fried tofu) which was a unique vegetarian option. Enjoyable cocktails (Miss Pippi and Yogi Bear Gimlet stand out), though the by-the-glass wine list was a bit limited we still found something to enjoy. Subpar was the service; our server was personable but a bit unresponsive and simply didn't rise to create the dining experience in ways I'd expect of CAMPER. Still, I'd go again.
