Delicious chili cheese dog and French fries!
The hot dog home Depot or train depot place in Martinez a block away from the Amtrak station makes outstanding hot dogs had a chili dog there before I caught my Amtrak train and it was awesome

I have found some diamonds in the rough by ignoring how dumpy they looked but this place looked and smelled like a dump. I saw good reviews and an extensive menu so I thought I'd try it. I asked for a chicken salad sandwich because it said homemade. I was told no chicken. Hamburger, hot dog or ham sandwich. I wasn't interested so I left. It seems to be popular with local workers so I'm probably missing something.
The chilli with onions and cheese is killer. And, have a grilled cheese San with extra tomatoes and mustard to go with it, double killer.
Very good food, prepared in a clean open kitchen. Excellent coffee! It’s a tiny hole in the wall, but a fantastic find. They have been in business 33 years so you know they are doing something right. Spotless restroom. It’s not fancy, but it is wonderful.
I think the Hot Dog Depot is a very clean, pleasant, and exceptional restront that has great hot dogs and very honest owners that are great hosts and I would recommend it to anyone who likes good hot dogs ! They serve beer and soft drinks and a few other great items ! And I am thinking they serve sandwiches And hamburgers as well , it is family owned and I was there one time and got two hot dogs and went to my table to eat and the gentleman at the counter came over and handed my wallet to me because I had left it on the counter , it was so nice of him and honestly I was just so thankful he was such an honest man and was happy to find he had not even opened it or any thing and I was thinking of it and I will have to go down and give him a nice tip and cammend him for his honesty, at the time I was tight on money and I was wanting to but had too little but I should have anyway cuz it could have been a bad day for me if he was not so honest ! So with that said, yes I must say if you want a great hot dog or hamburger , sandwich or something to drink it will make me happy to hear that you stoped in and gave this family your business and told others about this place because they are having hard times as all of us are in the these days, and did I say that the hot dog's are very good ? And they are right here in MTZ across from the old train station ! Honesty is the most important thing to ever have around you as far as I think ! Honest man !
