This is the first time I come to this establishment. I've already been to the one at Fairfield and Tracy. And like the previous other places the Black Bear Diner's food never disappoints. The food here was also delicious, and so are their pies. My chicken steak was soft I was able to cut it with my fork, and my eggs runny just the way I like them. I also liked the cute souvenirs at the entrance, that was cute. Now for a very busy place we didn't wait a long time to be seated, get our drinks and food. Their service was all around wonderful.
On our way to Yosemite National Park, we dropped by this diner.Food and service were good. Place is cozy too.Always enjoyed American family diners. ??
Customer service is good, the pancakes are amazing, and the taco salad with grilled chicken is pretty good. I'm not wild about the desserts and the homemade biscuits are horrible. They're very hard and crusty. We didn't like the salad dressing either but with extra salsa, we didn't need salad dressing. For reference, the dressings we got were balsamic vinaigrette and thousand island dressing. Not sure if the other ones would have been better. We will be back for the pancakes. They do make the best pancakes! Better than IHOP and Denny's for sure. I highly recommend signing up for their birthday club on their website because then you get a free Bear's choice breakfast with no purchase necessary during the month of your birthday.
They were extremely busy especially with online orders. I waited more than 40 minutes for my order. I did not receive my receipt and when I got home I discovered my order was wrong. I ordered biscuits and gravy with extra gravy. There was gravy in a cup but none on the biscuits so no extra gravy! Also, I ordered sausage and got bacon. My eggs were runny and definitely not over medium! If it wasn't so far to drive I would have driven back! It certainly was not worth the 37.00+ that I paid for the two meals!!!

Service & food; Great. location ,cleanliness & ambiance; good, BUT! Who pays over $6.00 for a 12 oz. glass of orange juice? It almost made me feel like not leaving a tip. But it ain't the employees fault, the pitiful greed of the restaurant owners...?
As always, Tri-Tip Dip at these BBD are the best!I took the salad with ranch dressing this time, it tasted well with the sandwich and au jus

Manteca Black Bear does not disappoint! Delicious every time and the staff is so friendly!*********They were very busy, but the wait wasn't bad. Food always tastes good here
We love coming here for breakfast. They're always crowded but we never wait very long to be seated. Staff is always nice and the food is always good. Food portions are also good. I'd recommend coming here regardless if it's breakfast. They have lots of great menu options. Cinnamon roll French toast is our go to.
