This is good sushi. It’s not ridiculously expensive. They seem to be trying new things. The live scallop was absolutely amazing. There’s a second course that comes out of no where and blows you away. To be honest, for me, the second course was better than #1, which was TEN PIECES OF LIVE SCALLOP SUSHI. Absolutely incredible. The fish is soft and fatty. The blue fin was so good, and I don’t like tuna. I have made like 4 posts ever. There’s a lot of posh sushi around here. This is good, and it’s price isn’t crazy.
Plenty of locals call this home, which is reason enough to try. Nicely varied menu with some nice surprises. Had a sampling of a wide variety spanning from sushi to sashimi, to delicious short ribs. All great!
Really good lobster roll, and toro sampling. The waiter was really attentive and friendly too.
Mmm fatty tuna toro. Loved it all. Real deal japanese beer on tap. Good service
I travel the US and eat at sushi restaurants from NYC to LA. This is definitely one of the finest. They make delicious original creations. Their fish and seafood is fresh-caught. I will visit again, soon.
Rock solid izakaya........ nothing too extraordinary, but everything was good. And they had gluten free soy sauce. Like this place more each time.
What a find! Sat at the sushi Bar and within 3 minute of arriving and ordered all of my favorites. They hit a pick crowd before I arrived. However, the Sushi Chef and the service team were friendly and attentive. Did I say the food was amazing! Not just the food, but everything. I’ll definitely return
Very good food and comfortable restaurant with a good wine selection. Not far from one of the most famous piers of LA. Reservation required. My recommendation...
A local spot for great food! Fresh bites with exceptional service.
I have 4 favorite Sushi spots in Manhattan Beach each with their own flair. Secretly tucked around the corner from Starbucks, Izaka-ya never disappoints. All the fish taste like it was caught in that day. Specialty dishes are a huge draw here. The first 2 things to order are the baked crab hand rolls that absolutely will melt in your mouth. The crisp rice w/ spicy tuna is one of the best I have had. Seared albacore and yellowtail sashimi w/ jalapeno are my go to's every time. Did I mention the creamy popcorn shrimp tempura...yum!! Order any sushi or sashimi and it will not disappoint. Atmosphere is great and stroll down to the pier after you have been completely satisfied.
