I love downtown Los Gatos. Steamer’s food and service is always good. I love their outdoor seating area. Highly recommend this place. However, inside seating can be really noisy.
I have been living in California for 19 years, with my husband on weekends we go to different areas and Los Gatos is one of my favorites. I love discovering new places for lunch. This Saturday we went to Steamer's for the first time. It is on a corner right in front of Los Gatos Downtown. Inside it is very spacious, with different areas, many tables covered with tablecloths and a giant bar. There are also tables outside, in a large hall. We sat at a high table on the street. The service was fast and very attentive. We ordered Crispy Calamari : Roasted Garlic-Chive Aioli to start and then my hubby order a classic Caesar Salad:Shaved Parmesan Crouton and he add chicken and I was craving something very american, so I order the Grillhouse Burger:Lettuce Tomato Red Onion Kaiser Bun Fries. All very well presented and delicious.I highly recommend this place for a fun moment with good food.
Good food. A bit pricey but the staff was nice and attentive, not overly intrusive but always there to refill water and we never had to look for them when we wanted to order an extra drink or dessert. Everyone enjoyed the dinner and experience.
Steamers, It's nice. Parking is often difficult. Handicap parking in the area is also difficult. Good selection of food, Nothing super special. The bar drink menu is interesting and fairly good. The service was fantastic. I will say that I wish steamers would vamp it up just a bit. It would be great to see a bit more innovation to their menu and a few more modern editions on the cocktail list. The place is mostly locals And some regulars from the nearby area. Such possibilities with this place. I remember when steamers was so popular and so full of people and through the years it has not changed. However the times have changed. Now this once bustling & popular restaurant and bar seems to be stuck in time. It was nice to visit steamers again. Unfortunately there was nothing to keep me coming back.
When I'm in the mood for some upscale atmosphere were the patrons can have a bit of boastfulness about them, this is my goto lunch place. I've only eaten the fish dishes and they all have been wonderful. I generally wash it down with their signature old fashion and walk out satisfied.
Sat outside- lovely area facing a cute walkway not the street. Lunch was a good deal for the area. Server was super friendly. No step to get in to the inside or outside area.
The food was great! Scallops and halibut with tuna tartar. The Hazy beer and champagne:) Service was also amazing!

Steamers is one of our favorite restaurants and have been enjoying it for years. During the pandemic, we've been ordering takeout and picking it up. Last night we decided to use the delivery option, which linked us to Door Dash. We placed the order and were given. a delivery time of 50-60 minutes. Forty-five minutes after placing the order, we received a text informing us that our order was cancelled due to "technical difficulties in processing the order with the restaurant". They should have been able to inform us of the "technical difficulties" before 45 minutes.
Great restaurant with a homey and classic feel to it. It had alot of classic and prohibition era cocktails some with their own unique twists on them, which I enjoyed. Their old fashioned is particularly good because they barrel age it then add a cold smoke on top. Food is enjoyable but I mainly came for the drinks.
