This afternoon my good friend treated me to a good lunch here at Wokcano. The waiters were very helpful and our food was served in a timely manner, fresh hot and flavorful, when our food was brought to our table we were served with very friendly and courteous hospitality. We even met the Manager Kevin I believe his name was,he was very friendly respectful and accommodating to our needs me and my friend were very satisfied customers and had dined sufficiently like kings?? I highly recommend this place and the ambiance was very relaxing and comfortable. I give Wokcano 2 Thumbs up?? and will be back again? we even order more food to go? we had the shrimp & chicken Pad Thai, crispy orange tofu, crispy garlic chicken wings,Young Chow combination fried rice, spicy crab and cream cheese wonton and veggies egg rolls. And an order of Mongolian beef & spicy crispy orange chicken to go
The food was GREAT; however, the service left little to be desired. As a single patron, I learned while just sitting and listening more about my server than the server knew of me.It seemed that this particular establishment focuses more attention, time and energies on couples or mini-groups of patrons. If I had to do it over, I would not have opted dine-in; rather, I would have simply placed a to-go order. It would have left a much better experience in my psychic. It's my hope that management will see this post and take note. Solo patrons are patrons too and deserve equal attentions and quality service. Service is my primary beef here, definitely NOT the cuisine.
Kevin the manager came over when we asked for him and was apologetic and accommodating. Made this from 2 stars to 4 just for his excellent customer service!!!!The environment was nice and upscale but the food is a huge disappointment. I ordered teriyaki chicken asked for fried rice and waiter response was “we don’t substitute”. Not even an up sell option, 1st disappointment. Food arrives the chicken is grilled slices with teriyaki on the side and green beans side dish. Not Chinese food I’m used to Disappointment #2 …. but I give it a try. Salad with ginger dressing, oh wait no dressing really hardly, had to ask for side of it. Then comes, Major disappointment #4 Chicken is rubber without taste gross. Very unpleasant experience for first dinner in LA. :(
Open late, amazing food. Seriously, the hype is real. BFF and I went for a weekend in LA and came here after seeing Ovo @ Microsoft Theater. We LOVED: the hot and sour soup, calamari, crab wontons (BEST EVER) and chicken gyoza. AMAZING FOOD!
I wish I could give this a higher rating because the food was delicious but service was terrible. We arrived a hour and a half before they closed and we we’re greeted maybe 20 minutes later. The server told us it was last call and we had to order everything at that time. It took another 20-30 minutes before we were served. Our food came out before we even got our drinks and we ordered Water and mixed drinks. We had to ask for silverware and even that took a minute or so before we received ours. But the food was great! Don’t order the calamari(nasty) but the sushi was amazing. We ordered a volcano roll and a Crunchy Roll. The Black Peppered Chicken was delicious. Omg it was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The rice wasn’t hard or under cooked and when you out that sauce from the chicken on it so good. We will give them another shot just because of the food.
excellent service. Food was exquisite and the drinks were amazing. thank you
Their prices have gotten out of hand. I used to order the Spicy Maki Combo which was around $19-22 in the last 5 years. Now they want to charge $39. That’s more than a 50% increase! Unacceptable.
The attention to detail in each dish is lacking, However the central flavors and ideas are not bad. There is a definite lack of authenticity, however it is a fusion restaurant so that is not a heavy expectation there. There are some glaring errors within the sushi’s, with a lack of texture and soggy rice/Nori. The fried crab roll was executed well. The carpaccios are visually pleasing and are well presented, however have a little bit too much sauce overpowering the flavors of the delicate fish. Similarly, the tartars had an excess amount of avocados, demonstrating an inability to execute proper portioning of ingredients. The emperors beef was supposed to be the main dish, but sorely lacked in every department and was a complete letdown. The beef was hard and flavorless, while the sauce was overpoweringly acidic and a disgrace to Chinese cuisine. The fried rice was well made and was the only saving dish of the night
Food was great! Service a little slow but looked like the was just from being so busy. Would come eat here again for sure. Portions are huge, could easily split a meal with someone
