Don't order the north american lobster. it was terrible and mushy, no tail. Very disappointing.
The food and environment were good. But there was something wrong with the management. We waited for more than 45 min until a waitress took our order. During the 45 min, we talked with two waiters and also the front desk saying that nobody had taken care of our table. But nobody really cared about us. We didn't even have water. It was NOT a busy evening, and the restaurant was only about half full. I don't blame our waitress, because she did a good job. It was the management that went wrong. I think somehow they even did not assign a waiter / waitress to a table for 45min
Waiter was obviously new. Soft shell crab arrived lukewarm, sat in pickup area too long before being delivered I think.
Food was lukewarm and dry at times. Oysters were okay but we were expecting more.
We did a double date there and everything we ordered was perfection! Our waiter was super attentive and did not bother us too much! I had cioppino and it was everything I had hoped for! The rolls they brought to the table were absolutely delicious! My husbandâs halibut, my friendsâ Seabass was exceptional! I donât like that you have to pay $14 for a side of broccolini, however. The wine list was vast! The location was a 10 minute walk from the intercontinental hotel where we stayed. Iâm so glad I ignored any negative yelp reviews and we would definitely recommend this place wholeheartedly! We went on a Friday night at 5:30 and it was not crowded. That was a perfect time to go!
The staff and especially our server made my birthday lunch really enjoyable, as usual. We come here once every few months and everything about the restaurant brings us back. Their mules and The Grand cocktails are really good! And we usually do all raw bar and the clams with chorizo. Tried the octopus and it's really good too! We'll be back!
My co workers and I enjoyed our meals. The staff was very nice.
Weâve been here before and this place hasnât disappointed us yet. Food and service was fantastic. Seafood selection is amazing, as is the wine list. Atmosphere was upscale but friendly. Our waiter, Chris, was very nice throughout, and even brought our 3 yr old daughter a special desert for her birthday.
Food was delicious. Service was not great; after initially being seated, it took a long time to order. After being very specific about wanting a dish without sesame seeds on top - and assured by the waitress that could be done, the dish was brough with sesame seeds and had to be sent back. There was then a long wait for the dish to be remade, while the rest of us had hot food in front of us. Another in our party asked about one of the sea bass dishes and was suggested to order a different sea bass dish. The second one had toppings and sides that did not appeal, so we went with the original sea bass dish, which turned out to be delicious. It was also about 25% less expensive than the one being pushed by the waitress, so it really felt like she was trying to upsell us in a way that we didn't appreciate.
Havenât been to The Water Grill in 20+ years. But it is still great. Glad to have returned.
