Night Manager Diego was very friendly and made the experience nice. We ordered the spicy pork chop with fried rice and an over easy egg, Uncle John's spicy and sweet chicken with fried rice. We could have used more spice on everything. The rice although a lot, lack flavor even with soy sauce, everything was still good over all AND FRESH.

Not what I was expecting.I was looking for a new breakfast place and was craving steak and eggs. I found this place on Google first, then on Yelp, and both rated it 4.5 stars. I ordered the steak and eggs, and it was worse than mediocre. The steak tasted spoiled. The eggs were basic, and the potatoes were bland. The location looks like an old dinner that desperately needs a remodel. The pancakes were decent but too small for the price. But not everything was bad. The two people taking orders and serving were very welcoming and pleasant. They provide excellent customer service. The place has potential, but ownership should revamp the recipes and the space.

We ate at Uncle John's twice during our weeklong stay in LA because it was that good. The spicy pork chops are one of the best meals I've ever had, and I'm going to dream about them until I'm able to hopefully return one day. The staff during both trips was incredibly friendly and helpful. The prices were very reasonable, and all meals come with a free beverage. It's a lowkey place that manages to blow you away with the quality. Highly recommend to anyone living or visiting LA.

This was an amazing place. They served a delicious steak, and I felt like i just ate dinner, but it was still breakfast time! The eggs had a delightful flavor and the fried rice was truly a great dish. My only problem was that it was a small restaurant and did not have a good number of seats. Other than that I loved this place. Would come back.

SO good! I expected mediocre coffee shop food and I was soooooo wronggggg. The mushroom bowl was to die for I'm still dreaming of it three days later. The service was so fast and helpful, even the wait staff running food stopped to check on us. We will definitely be back.

spent a weekend in lax from from jfk. stayed at hotel figueroa and found this place on a google search. so glad i did. a wonderful community based business serving great food. btw, they gave us oyster sauce for our eggs. for chinese people, that's a huge winner!

This place is an American and Chinese diner. An Interesting combination that may not sound appealing, but yet fails to disappoint. The go to dish on this restaurant is the fried pork chops with fried rice(add eggs and bacon). The place has been around for a while and it still manages to stay consistent.

I loved this place and will be coming back! The staff were so nice and kept checking on us to make sure we were doing well. The steak and eggs were amazing, the fried tofu was great! I can’t wait to try other menu items!

Influenced by Buzzfeed a few years ago. I finally made the trip from Jersey to Uncle Johns Cafe. The food lived up to its name. Affordable and delicious, cooked perfectly as asked with a very friendly and welcoming staff. This may be one of my favorite spots in LA.

I found out this place because of Buzzfeed Worth It and I was super super glad I came because it was WORTH IT!First, they are strict on making sure that if you are dining in you either have a negative covid test or are fully vaccinated. Which I like personally because if you're dining in, there is a comfort knowing the person next to you is likely not sick.Second, the food there is really comforting and yummy. I got the spicy chicken wing egg combo with fried rice. Super super delicious and good portions of food as well.Plus, with the meal you get a free drink! I ended up getting the taro boba and it was surprisingly very good too.I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in LA!
