It’s my first time trying tsukemen and I love it! We were visiting LA for a couple days and stumbled upon this district with all the Asian cuisines.I love the concept of dipping the noodles into the broth versus eating as ramen. The charsiu was cooked to perfection and the broth was very delicious. If you’re sharing with another person, I highly recommend ordering one bowl in large. Also must try is the salmon, ikura bowl. Oh my gosh, I wanted another bowl! Have it with a glass of Asahi and your meal is complete.
Great ramen. The noodles are so delightfully chewy and the broth is nice & rich. Portion is large, I'm never able to finish the regular size.I've been at least 4 times to this location and it's always great quality.Free parking at the lot next to Starbucks / Marshalls.
Tasty tsukemen. You can taste strong bonito and pork flavor. Noodles are pleasantly chewy. Love the texture. And don’t forget ajitama, the eggs, which is so delicious.Something kinda threw me off is the broth(sauce) is not hot, barely warm. Since it’s a cold, windy night, I’m not too sure it’s because the weather or it’s what they usually serve.Salmon and ikura bowl is fresh and worth a try too.Though there’s always a lot ppl waiting, it doesn’t really take long to be seated. And service is very good, staffs are kind and helpful.Overall it’s really a nice place for ramen, recommend it.
Pretty good ramen and an interesting way for eating it.Noodles 5/5: noodles texture was great!Soup 4/5: wished the soup was a tad bit warmer. Also abit too salty for my liking. Not a local to LA, but personally prefer danbo ramen from seattle and Vancouver.Egg 5/5: cooked to perfectionMeat 4/5: meat was soft and tasty but texture wasn’t 5/5 but still good.Waiting time for 4 people on a sat evening about 20 mins.Servers were really busy but friendly at the same time!
WOW! Finally I updated my top 3 ramen in the world. Almost perfect in every way, classic ingredients, broth is beep and flavorful but a bit too much leading by garlic too me, egg, egg! is perfect, noodles are good but standard, will be nice to see wavy or thickness as an option. And finally right balance with broth and noodles, broth completely covers noodles and you don't feel like eating noodles all time only. In the end chashu, just slightly firm, almost completely tender. Will back here for sure again and again.
Noodles were perfect! Eggs were perfect (yolk was still runny, SO GOOD)! Broth was so flavorful! Definitely would go back for more. It was also so filling so you don't have to worry about not having enough. The broth sticks to the noodles really well so it's easy to get a lot of flavor in each bite. Would highly recommend.
If you like Tsukemen (dipping noodles), this is the spot!! That is why they give you the broth and noodles separate. The broth is thicker and is meant for you to dip the noodles into it. It is by and far the best dipping noodles I've had in the US and is on par with Japan! The only problem is the wait is usually decently long and parking can be a pain so I recommend coming on a weekday for lunch rather than dinner. There is a ton of street parking around so it won't be too much of an issue during lunch on a weekday at least.
This was my first time having ramen and oh boy was this place perfect. The pork broth and pork were magnificent with a creamy taste to it. The mushrooms and other veggies truly compliment the dish and ordering at level two spicy will sure leave you reaching for water. Now the vegan ramen was exquisite as it brings out the flavor of the spices much more. Personally, I prefer thicker noodles, so that was the only downside. However, they have some tasty cold noodles you can order. Now the service was pretty good and the place has a total hipster vibe. If you are looking to try Ramen for the first time, this is your place!
Amazingly chewy noodles. The dipping soup is kind of like a gravy with pork chunks. It was our first time and we really liked it, although it did seem a bit on the heavy side. We got a single bowl for the two of us and were happy with the portion
tsukemen is incredible here! ask for broth at the end to dilute the dipping sauce and turn it into soup
