No smoking section and can’t acomidate for 16-20 or 30 people or weel chair and rude magenment big Moma was so mad that they wouldn’t let us eat after droving 2 days all the way to las Angleass-the Humphrey family
Couldn't accomodaht 20-25-30 people. Awful service wouldn't feed Big Momma. She seets in a weelchar. And no smokin section!!! What is this a liberal commie dysforphia
What a lowkey, under-the-radar little spot in LA! I’ve been craving some good Chinese food, without having to venture all the way to 626. My friend pointed out this place existed (also originally from SGV). And I was delighted to find out, it lives up to its name! You kno you’re at a good Chinese restaurant when their menu has 200+ items ?. The portions are so generous here, each dish packed with aroma and flavor, and actually pretty decent seating. Just beware, parking is not friendly in these parts of town if you don’t already know.
Great casual spot for homey Chinese food! We dropped by after landing at LAX for quick lunch and almost missed their lunch hours. We ordered Mapo tofu (which was part of the reason I wanted to try this spot), cumin lamb, and a big plate of Shanghai rice cakes. So the mapo tofu verdict: good but not going to be the sole reason for a revisit. Their version has light heat and bean flavor, tofu as silky cubes, with a sauce that wasn’t too thick. We dined outdoors and weather held up well thankfully.
I ordered pan fried dumplings/ pork potstickers, Mongolian beef, xiou long bau (soup dumplings), and chili wontons.Service was fine. The food was just not very good. No soup Ib the xlb, noodles in all dishes were bloated, the beef tasted fishy. Like fish and was fatty and lacked a pan wok preparation. The prices for the area are reasonable but if there’s somewhere else that charged the same or slightly more, I’d try it first.
My fiance and I enjoyed our curry udon meals today! I loved how chewy the udon was, and the curry was very flavorful! We were quite impressed with the way they packed the food. The curry broth was on the side, the toppings were separated from the udon (we thought it was already on the noodles), and the tempura and katsu were in separate containers. We are definitely coming back and possibly dining in when we feel comfortable to do so :) Can't wait to have udon again here (hopefully soon)!
I like this place because the waitlist is less than 30 minutes and the food is amazing. I always order the Tempura Udon but this time I had the Curry Tempura Udon, the broth was very rich ant the curry was delicious with the tempura.
Yes! They are open during shelter in place! Instead of ordering via uber eats, I came in person to place my order because I noticed my favorite chicken and kinoko cream sauce wasn't an option. It is though! Perfect! I recommend adding extra udon for $3 because portion size became two days meal, worth it. Free appetizer for pick up! Tempura gyoza was still crispy upon arrival home, an hour later.
SCREMING AND CRYING THAT THIS PLAACE IS ALWAYS EMPTY!!? This is everything Din Tai Fung hopes to be. Absolutely the best Chinese food and drinks. Soup dumplings are phenomenal and they have such a diverse range of authentic food at a very reasonable price. Every local person in the mid-wilshire area should give this place a try
Ordered takeout on the phone for pickup. Food was ready in 15 minutes! My sister and I ordered:-Green onion pancake-Shanghai Style (Pork & Veg) Chow mein-Eggplant & Mushroom with Basil-String beans with house sauceTo be honest, as a Chinese American, the food was OKAY. Not out of this world amazing, but not too bad either. For some reason I feel like their Sawtelle location tastes better? I didn't really like their green onion pancake--too fried/salty for me, the string beans were okay...a bit soggy, not crunchy like how I like it... chow mien was meh okay...nothing special... not that flavorful or something... eggplant was okay... greasy but not that amazing... I don't want to sound harsh but it was just... okay. Wow I have said okay over three times already I don't know how else to describe my opinion other than that. Food was decent I suppose but nothing special. Big portions, food was ready fast, pleasant ordering/pick up experience. I wish I could give them a higher rating but 'okay' is better than 'could have been better' right? I mean, it could have been better but I appreciate the pleasant ordering experience and customer service.Overall, I feel like another restaurant called Kung Pao Bistro in the area is more delicious. I don't think I will be coming back to this location, but to their Sawtelle location if I am craving Chinese food again. For some reason their Sawtelle location hits different.
