I absolutely love this place and have for years. But ever since they’ve moved to only ordering from delivery service apps, I’ve been a hard pass. These companies jack up the prices. 19 dollars for a burrito is ridiculous. Such a bummer.

Consistently excellent and extremely vegetarian friendly. Favorites are the Ahi Tuna taco, the squash blossom taco, and the vegan fried chicken taco. Service is fast and friendly, tacos are $6 a piece and each abundant. This location has a bunch of outdoor table seating with umbrellas. 10/10.

Omygosh, I was not prepared to be delighted! Delicious tacos, ratio and proportions were ideal. Accoutrement, super fresh and tasty. Also a delightful green sauce. I ordered the grilled cod tacos.

I’ve worked in restaurants where salt and sugar get confused in the bins. Maybe this is what happened. But everything was so so so SWEET. Fish taco, sugar sweet. Steak taco with kimchi, SWEET. Chips and salsa, sweet. Could not get away from it at any bite. Super disturbing in a culinary way if this is the actual pallate of the restaurant. Won’t return. 2 stars because there was a legit amount of fish on the taco and I’m full off 2 tacos.

I love Tu Madre, but this location is the worst. If you're leaving a bad review, PLEASE consider their other locations. This one was horrible. The sauces were off and the tacos did not taste good and were not presentable... just the contents thrown together. Chicken was rubbery. JustThis one is about a mile from my house, I'd rather go to the one in WeHo or in Larchmont Village.

I hate to be negative but the vegan mushroom burrito is NOT it. It's largely my fault cause I was super hungry and ordered it on Postmates without thoroughly reading it. Just figured "mushroom burrito... that sounds good." I get it and bite into it all excited and its filled with what seems like SLAW. A straight up SLAW BURRITO. I mean there's pickles in this freakin thing. Some sort of pickled cucumber, but yeah... these are pickles. The mushroom in it is scarce, I virtually see none. A burrito should be protein, rice and beans and whatever traditional extras in there. But those are the basics. Whyyyy is this burrito filled with slaw?! No beans, protein is I have no idea where. Restaurants always think vegan has to mean super artsy fartsy hippie ingredients. Just take the meat out leave rice and beans and keep it simple. No one wants a cole slaw burrito! Im so mad ? .... and hungry.

Over priced white people take on Mexican food. Constantly messing up my order, out of rice the last time I went, and if you order through an app they make no efforts to communicate that they can’t make your food until you drive all the way there.

I was really excited to try this place since it looked so cute, I ordered the crispy fish and fried chicken tacos which both would’ve been delicious if it wasn’t for this unbelievably agave sugary sweet “slaw” that topped the tacos. I love a good balance of sweet, spicy, acidic but this was like flat out if someone poured sugar over fried fish and fried chicken. The desert (red velvet churros were less sweet than the tacos themselves , which is bizarre) if the slaw would’ve been more acidic than sweet, it would’ve made all the difference in the world. Oh well !

Crispy Fried fish taco and braised beef were yum

Food was really good but less than 24 hours later and I'm throwing my guts up. It was the only thing I ate so I couldn't have gotten sick from anything else. Came up completely undigested and burned my throat so bad I'm afraid I might have to go to the hospital. I never get sick from food and never throw up so this was an awful experience. Don't think I'll risk this place again which is a shame because truly the food tasted amazing.
