I’ve been hunting for a good vegan burrito that isn’t just vegetables - and Sugar Taco delivers. Literally unreal taste and will be coming back. The burrito was hefty so good value for money imo - will want to come back to try the vegan quesadillas and tacos as well.Team was all really nice, restaurant is clean, has a great outside seating area that is cool and covered.
Best vegan tacos we've had yet. My partner loved the fact that she could order Anything off the menu. Also love the fact that this is a woman owned place. Tina and crew are Killing it! Keep it up.
I had high hopes when visiting Sugar Taco. I wasn't disappointed but also I wasn't blown away. I had the Jackfruit tacos and I have to say I think the ones at Sage Organic bistro are way better imo. Still, when in the area I would def revisit. Also, it's a very bright and colorful space!
Everything was so delicious!! We tried the Veggie Burrito and an assortment of tacos. The Jackfruit taco was my favorite. The pollo taco and asada tacos were also really delicious but the fish is probably my second favorite. He really liked the pollo taco and burrito because it was grilled. Overall the food has great flavors. Although, the rice and beans need some improvement, both items were served cold. I would definitely come here over & over again!! The margarita was tasty, gonna try aqua fresca next time!!
This place is such a gem ? outstanding vegan tacos! I had the jackfruit tacos and they were sooooo good! I can’t wait to try their other vegan alternatives! They got me wanting to come back for more! They decorated the restaurant soooo cute! Makes you so happy walking in. It’s perfect for someone like me that appreciates art and decorations… and of course makes taking photos extra fun! I can’t wait to come back for more tacos and margaritas!
Sugar Taco is one of the best places to eat, I love their quesadillas and full order nachos! This place is my go-to place for tacos and to bring family members or anyone new to LA! The drinks are top notch such as the Horchata, Jamaica and the Strawberry Margarita - all super fresh and DELICIOUS!So grateful for this place!
Drove 6hrs to try this place out and I was not disappointed! Came for my early birthday celebration, I've never tried vegan food and I was blown away! We tried a little of everything but the nachos were my favorite hands down. The traditional margarita was perfect but the michelada stole me heart! Ended the night with the famous churro donuts and I ended up buying 6 for the ride home. Fast service and great hospitality, will definitely be back soon!
Great food, great vibes. I love the eco-consciousness. If you’re looking for flavorful plant-based dishes look no further. My fish tacos came with rice and beans and were a hearty and tasty meal. The cactus cooler was a perfectly refreshing drink for a warm LA day. Don’t miss the reusable glass jars, either. You can bring them in next time for a discounted refill. Make sure to try their sauces as well.
The ambiance at Sugar Taco is inviting and colorful. This vegan restaurant serves classic Mexican food and drinks. There’s a fantastic selection of fresh juice margaritas! My watermelon margarita was very tasty! My friend loved her Michelada. They’re Plastic Free, and aim to reduce paper waste too! Yay! ?My pollo (soy) & cheese quesadilla was a bit on the bland side. It would’ve been good with salsa. I added a side of guacamole- it was fresh but not a lot of flavor. My friend enjoyed her Carnitas (jackfruit) Tacos. We ate on the cute patio, after ordering at the counter. The staff are very friendly and helpful.I’m giving them 5 stars for the ambience, service & creative vegan food!
Stopped into this place after seeing it featured on "LA Unscripted" and am glad I did as I would have never found it otherwise. I love being able to finally order anything off the menu with no fear that something will be cooked with lard or chicken or beef in the back as so many LA Mexican eateries use that even to just prepare the tortilla chips - however NOT HERE & I LOVE THAT! I ordered the trio of different tacos - fish, chicken and carne asada - ALL VEGAN and delicious! I also had to get the special guacamole with chips and a spicy margarita. For two of us, the total came to ~$65 which was a bit more expensive than I was expecting. The taco trio ranges around $13 for the three and the margaritas are $10-14 each. They have plenty of seating indoors in the AC and around 10 seats outside along Ventura Blvd under their awning. The taste, flavor and quality were outstanding and I'll be back as a result. Yum yum!
