The club in itself is nice. However, they will digitally scan your driver's license and all your personal information without you having the chance to say no and without prior notice or even privacy declaration. You won’t know what they do with your name, birth date, address etc.
I'm really surprised by the negative reviews here. I've been to countless clubs all over the world, from Ibiza to Berlin to Vegas and beyond, and I can easily say that Sound punches way above its weight. The staff are very friendly and the crowd is great. The layout of the club is perfect with the VIP tables nicely to the sides of the dancefloor and not taking up too much space or getting in the way like they would in some of the big VIP focused clubs. The dancefloor size is perfect for the size of the venue and the Pioneer sound system is top class. I think the lighting setup is amazing yet so simple with the lamps/lanterns adding a very mystical feel to the room. The smoking area is also very cool and the layout of the club means that there's never any bottleneck areas when it gets busy. $8 for a beer is also great value for the location. There is a steady stream of top class house talent rolling through the club each month and around $20 for entry is a bargain.Overall I'm so happy to have an amazing club like Sound within driving distance and I'm constantly looking forward to the next big night there.
I’d give it a 5 but my girlfriend and another good friend had their phones snatched out of their purses on the same night. It gets crowded on dance floor so in hindsight really easy for thieves to get away. Otherwise the sound and vibe of this place is on point
Me and my friend were denied entry to a show because of a dress code that is not posted anywhere on premise or online. The staff were total jerks about it. The venue, the promotion and the janky ticket app all refused to refund my money. American Express was kind enough to refund my money but I was still out $20 for parking and the 80 minunte round trip to get to LA.
Fantastic venue with a great music. The staff works long hours and deserves respect for their efforts. Drinks were also reasonably priced. The DJ spins a wide range of music to keep the partygoers entertained. This club was a blast for me. I will tell my friends about this!
Not a fan of club. Overpriced for the size and music isn't the best for life in area. Maybe with a different DJ and different security. However due never officially feeling the party life of LA. Was kind of a walk out feeling. Also spot is a bit racist, may be the music but being African American didn't make me feel safe.
If you’re an audiophile you’re going to love how it sounds in here. I come here about 4x a month to hear various DJs (Joris Voorn, Sabo, Goldcap, Victor Ruiz, etc) and have never had a bad time. Best sound system in LA.Perfect lighting too. Most other venues are either too dark or too bright. This is just right.
We have been to Sound dozens of times, and it was one of our favorite clubs in LA. Great sound and lighting. It's best when it's medium full, like on a week night. On packed nights it tends to get a little too basic, bro-ey, and hot. The crowd tends to be decent otherwise, for the most part neither trashy nor pretentious. The club is about mid-range in terms of class, and drinks are about average for Hollywood. The bartenders and bouncers have all been very friendly to us.Our experience was soured last time when an old lady at the door arbitrarily denied entrance because of my tank. I literally exclusively wear tanks going out and have never had a problem getting in at Sound. If that's the direction Sound is going, we won't be returning.
Amazing club, but there's no room to dance because they sell to capacity when only a fraction of the space is used for a dancefloor. This is actually dangerous because it makes the crowd uncomfortable and aggressive. I've been clubbing for more than two decades and know there can be a balance, but Sound seems willing to sacrifice the quality of their amazing audio/visual experience and bookings for a bit of extra profit by overselling. They really need to evaluate their approach to account for more space on the dancefloor and quite frankly the safety of their guests.
I went to Sound nightclub last night with my two friends. When we were walking through the dance floor I felt someone reach in my pocket and STEAL my phone. Many other people there had their phones and wallets stolen last night too.Security needs to be checking bags and belongings.Ruined my night …No one could help me and the security is extremely minimal. Not a safe environment for women either.I will NOT be going back :(
