Gonna take forever if I do individual reviews for each donut so I'm just gonna leave my recommendations. My favorites are still the butter and salt, the original, and old fashioned. The other donuts are still really good but the 3 more plain flavors really bring out the flavor of their fresh ingredients. They didn't have the basil eggs Benedict donut this time which is my personal favorite of theirs for uniqueness, wow factor, and taste. Their coffee is also string if you like strong coffee.
My favorite donut place in LA! So stoked to have this new location! Fresh donuts on the hour! All the cake donuts are great! I also love their monthly donut specials they have. So far myFavorite is the passion fruit they had.
Best donuts I’ve ever had. Just wish the prices were better and I’d go more often
Went for any after dinner treat and the donut was fresh. I got the blueberry and champagne donut. It was delicious the whole sweet blueberries on top were delicious.
Probably the best donuts I've ever had in LA! They have a very unique variety that I didn't see a lot and they are freshly made. The best part is that you may see how some of the donuts are made right in front of you! Definitely, will be back!
Alongside the classics, Sidecar offers fun, new innovative flavors! Their doughnuts - although not cheap- are delicious.
Sidecar doughnuts are the cakey type, a bit on the pricier side, but they’re still really good. I recommend the huckleberry one and the vanilla bean glazed too. The Fairfax location has a very convenient parking lot in the front.
Should I even be writing a review if I only tried their Vietnamese Coffee? Well, here I am...I ordered lunch next door at mendocino farms and was craving coffee. Miraculously there was NO line at Sidecar (this was 2:33pm on a Saturday)! So I went in and decided to give their Vietnamese Coffee a try.So how was the Vietnamese Coffee? It certaintly did not taste like a "normal" Vietnamese Coffee you would get at an asian restaurant/tea shop... to me it tasted more like a latte! I am lactose intolerant but I always make an exception for ice cream, boba, and Vietnamese Coffee... the staff member gave me the option of choosing whatever milk they had but I wanted mine as tasty as possible and she suggested their nonfat milk option which I opted for (I didn't tell her I was lactose intolerant and ofc I know what milks are not lactose okay)... and while the drink overall was not amazing, it ended up being OKAY!I must confess that I am not really a donut fan... but their donuts did look BOMB. However, I just couldn't justify getting a $7 donut when this Vietnamese Coffee already cost $6... maybe next time I'll try and see what the hype is all about!So.. if you're in the area and craving coffee, sure... give Sidecar a try! It did satisfy my craving and wasn't that bad!
Took a trip to Cali and ran across their website where food and wine had voted them as the best doughnuts and man are they good. Walked in and it smelled amazing and the doughnuts on display looked even better. On Wednesdays they make cinnamon rolls so we got one of those and one of the butter and salt doughnuts. Cinnamon roll was fantastic I mean you really can’t go wrong there. But the butter and salt was outstanding. It was their version of a plain glazed doughnut and it was one of the best plain doughnuts I’ve ever put in my mouth. I’ve been thinking about that doughnut ever since. One day I hope they make it down here to Florida cause I’ll never be able to forget that doughnut.
Great donuts with really unique flavors and cute packaging. Got the basil eggs Benedict which was delicious - had a poached egg, basil hollandaise and ham!!! Definitely a must have there. Also ordered two of their fall seasonal flavors - sage apple pie (really didn’t like it, sage flavor was overpowering but my partner loved it) and pumpkin cheesecake (not overpowering pumpkin spice flavor, very moist). Their seasonable drink, the black fog milk oat tea, was great as well. The Fairfax location is small so it only fit a few customers at a time and the acoustics make it difficult to hear/speak to staff. But they have an outdoor pickup window so you don’t have to stay inside.
