I’ve never experienced more rude staff in my life than I had at this restaurant! My friends and I came in with a reservation for 5 and someone wanted to join last minute so we thought we would ask if they could add a chair, a very simple request that I have been granted at numerous establishments. But at this place they refused despite half of the restaurant being empty. We asked if all those empty tables were reserved and they said no but they would not give us a chair because “another party might come and want that chair”. It doesn’t really make sense to me to turn away 6 customers who were already there and ready to pay. Not to mention the absolutely rude attitude of the manager. I would never spend my money here and I tell everyone I know to avoid it. Why would I pay to be treated like garbage?
Reservation experience: I had made a reservation on Yelp about a week or so in advance.Location: Unassuming restaurant front. We would street parking a block away.Ambience: What a gorgeous patio. If you can, try to get seated there.Food: We tried the Chef’s tasting menu for which I was quite excited. As a vegetarian, it’s usually hard for me to do a tasting menu pretty much anywhere. The tasting menu is good portion size for two people.I loved the baked crab cake hand roll- both texture and taste. Black evolution salad may be the only salad I have completely gobbled down (I’m not a salad fan, typically). The truffle maitake and tempura was also great.Overall, absolutely amazing.Wait staff: Friendly wait staff who provided us with good directions.Value for money: The tasting menu is priced at $88. I would happily pay that for the quality and variety of food.
The MOST professional experience I have had in so long. The service was so high-end, professional and kind! I felt so taken care of almost to the point where I felt guilty because they were so attentive and fancy! They put napkins in our laps and opened doors for us. They all looked so clean and put together, and each one of them match with the other host/servers. The two of us shared chef‘s tasting special which included seven amazing dishes that were so hard to believe they were vegan. I loved supporting a place like this that aligns with my values of ethical consumption and compassion!! This is the type of place that we need to be putting our energy into supporting, I also heard it’s a family business and the setting was very intimate and friendly! I would recommend this to any person vegan or not vegan for a truly interesting experience that will blow your mind
I am so disappointed I was so eager to try this restaurant. I went in and I wanted to sample different dishes and I was extremely hungry. So I ordered the sampler special even though they say it's for 2 people I was hungry enough to eat it all. It was a whooping $88 but all I didn't get everything on the sampler list and some dishes where I was supposed to get 4 pieces I only got 2 pieces. I left there feeling hungry still after paying $114 ($104 plus the tip) I tipped only 10% because the service was nice but I felt cheated on. Never again.Plus the food is just ok, Not that great. The photos of what I ordered and what I got are attached.
We went here for the Valentine's day four course dinner and it was a great experience. We've also dined in for the regular menu and their vegan sushi is top notch! I could live off of their dragon and dynamite rolls.
Way too much mayo throughout the meal. None of the food was amazing and only some was even enjoyable. The 7 course for 2 people is not worth the money at all. It ends up being a soup and three small plates too, rather than 7 individual courses.
I give it a 3.85. They have a beautiful patio and the service was good. They were very friendly. Some of the dishes were very good and I would go back and order them again. A few I didn’t like at all. The pumpkin croquettes had no flavour, very under salted and I did not like the breading at all. Both texture and flavour. Just not a good dish. All the tempura dishes we had were very yummy and the rolls we had were also good. I did not like the desserts. They also charged 2.50 for extra tempura sauce which was excessive considering the price of the dishes so that annoyed me. All and all I would go back and try it again.
This vegan Japanese restaurant was a good experience. It was moderately busy on a Saturday night but there were reservation slots still open for dinnertime. I would recommend ordering a few plates between the group and sharing. The sushi with eggplant on top was the best in my opinion - the eggplant was hot but it almost melted in your mouth and gave a good contrast to the cool pieces of vegetables in the sushi. Every item was plated very well and gave the impression that it was more than just food. They do not give you any soy sauce, unless you ask, but you don't need it because everything was flavored very well.
Had the chef’s special preset: overly oily, fried, filled with mayonnaise, and the hot items were served lukewarm?Dinner felt like a heavy gut bomb, which is the last thing I want from a vegan, organic, macrobiotic restaurant. Pricey for such disappointment?I may be willing to try again, but would pass on the chef special and order selectively.Service was nice.
Excellent food, a little pricey but definitely worth it. The staff were extremely attentive and polite.
