I've only been once. Nice selection in the market. I found exactly I was looking for. I would love to go back and try the restaurant. The only draw back was the woman behind the counter had a bit of an attitude when my Mother and I asked where the fresh ginger and turmeric were stored. She grumbled while making a face pointing in a vague Direction. What I assumed to be her husband can out and helped us, then checked us out as I addeda vegan Lassi to our order. It was tasty. We chocked our interaction with her, up to the store getting ready to close. Could have been a long day. I will go back for the Lassi and yummy fresh Gur Para!
Taste of food very inconsistent, customer service very sloppy. Very uncomfortable feeling in this place, they seem to profile you. I know a much better place contact me.Was literally standing in line waiting to place an order, looking at stuff in the deep freezer, when the grown woman made eye contact with me asking if I am (a well groomed, responsible black male) buying something ? in a very condescending way.
This place is a nice deli with great prices. The people working are great. Sometimes we have a little hard time hearing each other but they are pretty helpful.
Authentic South Indian market and restaurant. Counter service food was unbelievably delicious. They make fresh garlic Naan on the spot for diners and it was heavenly. Mostly vegan options but they did have one or two items with chicken.
Avoid this place. No accountability and zero consideration for customer service.I ordered dinner via Doordash and it never showed up to my doorstep. This restaurant apparently deliver their own orders so DoorDash just redirects you to this restaurant and does not accept any responsibility for their orders.Called the restaurant atleast 3 times and every time they say “someone just picked up your order”.They have no shame in lying again and again. This is just downright pathetic.
If you want to try vegetarian North Indian delicacy then the go to place is Samosa House. You have various options to try. I tried the 3 combo curries with garlic naan and rice. Mixed veg curry is a spiced flavors of all masala with nutty and variety vegetables , vegan Chicken curry is a must try if you are a fan of soya as the gravy with a bite of soya mixed in rice and when you take that dollop inside you it's a good feeling. And then comes back fruit curry though mild yet tasty to reach you that state of sensible ascetic pleasure of different veg option. The Samosa chat is something to another one something to try from regular somosa style as the flavours of channa with bite of samaosa dances in you as soon as it touches tongue. The carrot halwa at the end is the icing on the cake.
Samosas and dishes are fantastic. Everything is vegetarian or vegan. The store has everything you need. Prices are very reasonable. Favorite restaurant in LA County.
PLEASE check your receipts.I’ve been going to this place with my Hindi friends for a while, until we realized we had been cheated. The older woman at the register who is not always there, charged doubled prices on items from the food store. We started comparing stories. Two of us finally confronted her and got our money back. Save your receipts and check closely. The samosas are good but rather on the oily side. Younger staff is decent.
Love this place, so many veggie and vegan options and I always get the samosas. It’s inside an Indian grocery store so there are snacks and other things you can shop for too, plus the service is very friendly
At Samosa House you can get a full spread of food along with a fresh naan or chapathi for $11. And yet I still think the fresh samosas are the best thing they offer.
