Great ambiance, music was spot on, fun artwork. Walking in while the dough is being tossed and the aroma of tomato/basil in the air was a pretense of the delicious pizza yet to come! A+

Great service with even better pizza. The ambiance is hard-core and grungy, which I totally appreciate. They were even playing some sick punk music. The BBQ pizza was awesome and their vegan was out of this world. I'd totally return. Parking was tricky, but I figured it out.

One of very many trips to Purgatory for pizza today. For most, pizza is not a religious experience, for some like myself it most assuredly is a religious experience. A quick bite on some cheese slices will suffice today.Seriously great pizza. But next time I am paying penance, I shall remember my manners, and mannerisms and lay waste to my gothic soul crushes while downing some serious pizza from deep in the chambers of Purgatory, Pizza that is...

Fine quality. But I spend half my time in NYC and half here and even there I can get NYTimes starred Sicilian pizza for half the price of this place. When did baseline decent food become a luxury in LA?

Loved the paintings on the list walls. We were sightly confused when we accidentally picked up the vegan menu. So we ordered slices and tried 4 different slices. None were vegan which we were happy about. They had a great hazy IPA that tasted amazing.

It felt like my bf and I went to purgatory to get this pizza thats for sure. Not only were we way overcharged. ($60) for 2 pizzas that were different sizes and basic toppings. AND we also had to wait an eternity for our pizzas when it seemed like everyone around us had sat down ate and left. Mind you it was NOT busy…And now I can understand why, who has a casual $60 to throw down on a pizza? We could’ve gone to a nice restaurant instead ?. About 15 minutes before the pizza was finally done a cashier came to tell us they messed up the pizza and had to remake it. Cool, you could’ve told us that when it happened?or when I came to ask if the pizza was ready after 20 minutes?(when the cashier said it would be ready) Instead she refunded 20% which in my opinion was a joke considering we paid $60 for 2 pizzas AND THEY WERE BOTH DIFFERENT SIZES WITH NOTHING SPECIAL TO THEM.When we got the pizzas my bfs was cold probably because the pizza they messed up on was mine. And mine SHOCKINGLY was so burnt and hard I felt like I was biting into cardboard. Guess we should’ve checked the pizza before we left…but at that point we were so over it.I was a fan of this pizza before but after this experience I won’t be going back(and no…I wasn’t overcharged or given the run around like this time) I wish I could get my money back that’s for sure.

We absolutely love this pizza place! I'm from the Midwest and my husband lived in Philly and this is the only pizza we can agree on! The Detroit style is where it's at and the garlic knots are so good. I honestly don't think it's expensive for what you get either.

The pizza and spaghetti w/ meatballs was amazing! First and foremost an establishment doesn't deserve five stars just on the food alone. It's the service we received when we ordered our food. There was a nice young lady who took our order. We told her it was our first time and she took us in like going to a friend's grandma's house for the first time. She explained the menu and gave us great recommendations for our group of four. This was much appreciated! The spaghetti came out first with two good sized meatballs. The flavor was excellent. Then the Sicilian style (square) pizza with the works showed up. It was piping hot, the pepperoni were the small ones that get that perfect crisp to them, oh so good! The vegetables and other meat were plentiful as well. We will be back and also send our friends over. Thanks for the great food and service!!!

A little simple sloppy pig pizza from purgatory never disappoints I had to add the mushrooms.

pepperoni wasn't even cooked right and cheese wasn't even melted all the way
