Got take out. Good: the fried buns and the beef roll were okay. Beef noodle soup is very beefy, very rich. The best thing were the mushrooms. Bad: worst dandan noodles I've ever had to be quite honest. The flavor profile just isn't what I'm used to. I was hoping for more spice, more depth of flavor. It really fell flat.
Went here on a Sunday for lunch. Waited about 5 minute for a dine in table. I think the main dishes lack a bit of flavor, but love the appetizers! You can keep refilling the loose leaf tea.
A tad noisy and you may have to sit outside because it’s so popular. It’s an interesting Taiwanese take on some classic dishes such as Mapo (mau po) Tofu. We had the chicken and Dan Dan noodles as well and they were fantastic, if a little different from what you may expect if you’re used to the usual Cantonese style. The staff were great too, as they missed my beer on the first go and then comped one of the dishes. Tasty.
If I could rate Pine and Crane higher I would! Apart from every dish being amazing in their own ways, the costumer service is the best I have seen. Within minutes of sitting down you are quickly served and throughout the meal the staff check to see if you are enjoying the food. This is my favorite restaurant ever and you definitely should try it!
I love Pine & Crane! Seriously amazing Taiwanese food. The restaurant is stylish, modern and clean while the food is very authentic and completely delicious. My kids were surprised at how tasty everything was. Healthy too! We will def be back often!!!! If they have it, the lotus root salad is a must! 3 cup chicken is amazing, wontons, etc… I want to try the wood ear mushrooms next!!!
Really can't say enough good thing about this place. Tasty food? Check! Decent value? Check! Good dining environment? Check! Good variety? Check! Friendly service? Check! The only down side is this place doesn't have dedicated parking and finding one around the neighborhood could be painful. Came in around 1:30 pm on a Wednesday and didn't have to wait at all. The food was really authentic and flavourful. With inflation going out of control, the bill was really reasonable. Definitely recommended!!
It’s recommended by a friend. Really good spot in silverlake restaurants area. We arrived there at 2:30 but still quite busy. Only long table and a couple of tables available. Luckily the tables were turned around very fast. The food is great! Highly recommend the beef noodles! Please taste the broth before pouring the soy sauce or vinegar. The broth is simply delicious. The service was good, a white guy came to check how the food tasted. But another Latino g? guy literally passed the dirty tables a couple of times without cleaning and also had the attitude face. That’s why giving 4stars. Sorry, its not cool if you serve the people. ?
Legit and reasonably priced. I had been craving Taiwanese beef noodles and didn't feel like driving out to Rowland Heights. I am so glad I found this place! The bonus was the little side dishes that immediately brought me back to Taiwan - shredded bean curd and wood ear mushrooms flavored JUST right. The noodles didn't disappoint and certainly tasted handmade and fresh. The broth was excellent though could have used a bit more heat and the beef was to die for so tender and flavorful. I think I found my go-to spot inside LA.
If you ever pass by this restaurant, you'll notice a long line. Once you eat here, you know why!The interior has a rustic feel with really nice, mellow vibes. Compared to how busy they are, there's definitely not enough seating but since COVID, they've set up seats and tables outside. You can choose to take your order to-go and eat it outside or wait outside while waiting to dine-in.You order at the register and then they give you a number to wait outside. Once a table is ready, they'll seat you!We waited about 25-30 minutes and upon being seated, the dishes started to roll out pretty quickly.Dan Dan noodles- for something that looks like it has a few ingredients-- THE FLAVOR IS SO BOMB!!! Noodles in peanut sauce covered in thinly cut cucumbers?! Omg ... one bite of the noods with few pieces of cucumber?? Has my eyes rolling back. I don't know why this dish is so good to me hahaI had Dan Dan noodles at one other place besides here and it did not compare at all.Beef noodle soup- the closest thing I can compare this to is pho but this had a more rich/concentrated beef flavor. I thought it could've been seasoned a little more but the beef was very tender.Beef roll- cut into 4 pieces is another dish with thinly sliced cucumbers and beef!!! (I love cucumbers)If you're not a fan of cucumbers, don't get this haha. Dip this in the chili oil from the pork belly and you got yourself an even more elevated dish! Chefs kiss*Spicy shrimp wonton- I wouldn't say this is spicy but it is nonetheless delicious and tasty. Tastes like the dim sum shrimp dumplings.Garlic pork belly- I thought this would taste a little weird because I don't like my meats cold and this dish is served cold. But the flavor overshadowed that. The chili oil is soooo good to eat other dishes with. They have a pretty large drink menu!We tried the Taiwan beer in lychee flavor 3.5% alcohol and the yuzu sparkling water. The lychee flavor, of course, tastes like straight up lychee juice. It was SO yummy!!! I could've had 5 more. The yuzu was strong and very carbonated. If you like yuzu, you will like this drink! It's in the cutest little glass bottle that you can reuse. The service was great, very attentive and efficient! The water is self serve.Also-- did I mention the prices are very reasonable!Parking can be tricky as it is street parking.I recommend going early/late lunch and/or dinner to avoid the rush!
Delicious, reasonably priced Taiwanese food with great ambiance. The beef noodle soup tasted super authentic! Nice place to stop for lunch
