I didn’t want to give 3-stars because here’s the thing, the ice cream I ordered (salted caramel and chocolate santo domingo) was totally delicious, but I ordered it as the oreo sundae which is described as being “topped with hot fudge” and I was dyyying for a hot fudge sundae. Instead, the cup is just lightly drizzled with what seemed like regular chocolate syrup. For $14 this was a pretty small size but it maybe would’ve been worth it if it was topped with hot fudge :/ also my boyfriend had the Oreo ice cream and it didn’t taste like anything. Not even like vanilla.
Last night I finally made time to go to paradise ice cream. I've always seen the nice reviews and I told myself I'm going to go here one day and several months later I finally came here.Overall I really like the experience.Location: located on Spring Street. From where I started I took the route that took me by the corner of 7th and Spring Street. That is a rough neighborhood I do not recommend taking children down that way.But once you start walking towards 8th st the atmosphere starts to get a lot better.Taste: I went with two scoops of the rocher and the cold brew latte chip. The taste of the ice cream was average. I've tried better ice cream than this but I've also tried worse ice cream than this it falls right in between I would give it a 2.5 to 3.0 on the StarsService: as I walked in I was greeted by two very friendly looking employees Smiles on their face saying welcome welcome would you like to try samples. Perhaps my standards have changed but this sort of nice behavior is not commonplace anymore.I went with medium sized which is two scoops the menu said $7.50 this establishment also takes cash which is nice.Overalllocation I think I'd give it a 3.5 STAR kinda surrounded by a slum towards 7th st.Taste I would give it 2.5 - 3.0 STAR avg to above avgService I would give up +5 STAR one of the nicer experiences I've had at any store in a long time. The nice service is honestly what makes me want to go back. The average score is 3.8 STARSIf you (reader) happen to be in the mood for ice cream and you're nearby give this place a try. I think you'll like it.
Delicious ice cream! They had some really unique flavors, good size portions, at very reasonable prices. Two young guys working the counter were really nice as well. The area is a little sketchy after dark so don't be afraid to park in front with your hazards on.
My favorite flavors are Honey Lavender and Bourbon Coffee. Love how they come up with new unique flavors each month! Expect to wait in a long line if you come during weekend afternoons. The line takes longer because everyone gets samples of all the different flavors.
Hands down the best ice cream I’ve ever had. I honestly will eat ice cream anywhere and just like it regardless but this place was exceptional. I was visiting LA and we stopped by here, the owners are SO nice and welcoming. We were greeted by a hearty hello when we walked in and the owners offered that we try as many flavors we wanted before we made a decision. You can tell the ice cream is fresh and the flavors are well thought out. I loved the snickerdoodle one so much I ended up taking a pint home! They have a good variety of flavors and toppings, everyone can find at least one thing they like and they have a decent amount of accommodation for food restrictions. I definitely will have to come back here next time I’m in LA. It was amazing ice cream but genuinely the two brothers who own it have such infectious warm energy it was such a nice experience especially being a tourist.
This is a classic, old-style ice cream parlor. NOT soft serv. Vibrant flavors, high energy vibe, even cookies. A special treat If you are Vegan—has a wider variety of non-dairy flavors than most small shops I’ve been to.
Good ice cream good staff friendly staff reasonable prices I highly recommend it if you’re in downtown LA area and want some really good ice cream and Sundaes
I have never been so satisfied with cream in my mouth. I sometimes go here for dinner and dessert with a multi-visit night. Their energy is always amazing and upbeat. The milkshake skills; PHENOMENAL especially with all that wrist action. You can taste the love with every sip
Quick SummaryThis spot is the best ice cream spot in downtown LA and one of the best ice cream shops in LA overall. Fantastic service and phenomenal ice cream. Really caters to all customers, as they have a Wellness flavor, multiple creamy flavors, and one of the best strawberry ice creams I've had (and I usually hate strawberry ice cream). You can really taste the flavor of each ice cream, as it's not overwhelmed by cream or sugar like most other ice cream shopsIce cream- 5 starsI love the variety and quality of ice cream offered here. Was so difficult to choose which flavor to take, because everything tasted phenomenal. The Wellness flavor was light yet flavorful. The strawberry ice cream just tasted like the sweetest strawberries. And all the cream flavors were phenomenal, mainly because it accentuates the flavors versus drowning it with cream and sugar (the banana sundae was fantastic; you can really taste the ripe bananas since they make it fresh).Service- 5 starsThe staff were very friendly throughout our visit. Similar to the rest of the reviews, they are the friendliest staff in DTAAmbiance/Value- 5 starsIt's slightly farther from the other clubs/bars in the DTLA area, but it's only at most a 5 minute walk away. Definitely worth the slightly extra walk for the higher quality experienceBottom LineGreat experience all around, from the phenomenal ice cream and the excellent service. A must-visit if you're looking for ice cream in DTLA.
Excellent customer service and even better ice cream. We came here after a late night out on the town and it really hit the spot. They had lots of flavors to choose from. I got strawberry an the cookie butter and they were both fire ? Highly Recommend
