Great pricing for overall good pieces of meat, although nothing seemed especially marbled. The short ribs were best, followed by thin sliced brisket, beef tongue, beef belly, tenderloin, and fillet mignon. The new york steak was strangely white. Intercoastal beef was kind of chewy and not as potentially tender as online would describe. Most pieces would be greatly elevated with some salt. Ban chan was great
Great food and awesome service! They were able to accommodate our relatively large party of 9. I appreciated the staff’s attentiveness to helping us cook when asked and to bringing us more food. I might have appreciated if the background music was quieter because it was a little hard to converse. I would definitely come back here!
The food was just alright. We tried most of the menu, with #2 being the best. The kimchi is really flavorful and pairs awesome with the meats. But the majority of the food we got was tough and chewy. Prepare for 30 minute wait time and a pretty expensive meal. For 4 people plan on spending well over 200 dollars. Service was great though, the servers help you cook the meats and they answered all of our questions. This would have been a 5 star rating if the price was lower, the meat quality was higher, or they removed the 90 minute timer. But all three are serious cons and I wont be returning, instead go to quarters.
we had no idea how to bbq the meat. the servers were kind enough to keep an eye out, save the food from burning, and change out the top of the grill. it was cool; we learned how to cook!
This is a great Korean BBQ experience that has none of the frills and all of the fun. The staff is no nonsense and extremely efficient in getting your food out to the tables. The menu selection is long and diverse, and the meats were enought for 3-4 people. The menu is all-yiu-can eat so don't come full. It can be busy at times so use the iPad by the front door to sign in and wait. There is valet parking available for $3 as well.
BEST AYCE KOREAN BBQ! So I have usually been going to Hao Jangs for AYCE Korean bbq UNTIL I found this spot! This is the way to go for sure!First-The location is right in the heart of koreatown. It’s a pretty cool building that you can’t miss. It definitely stands out. It has a decent sized parking lot, but there is some street parking but not a lot. The restaurant itself is pretty nice. Well decorated, good music and smells great from all the food cooking! We went on a Thursday night and it was still busy. But joining the yelp waitlist helped a lot. I recommend doing this! The staff is really friendly and very attentive! The price is better than a lot of the other places. And SO WORTH IT!Second-The menu is perfect. They have a lot of options to choose from. But not to much that it overwhelms you. I stuck to brisket/spicy brisket/filet mignon/ New York strip, and some shrimp and it was just so damn good. The sides are just as good! The spicy cucumbers are AWESOME! Good macaroni/kimchi and the veggies were great! You get awesome portion sizes and they are fast to bring everything out! For only $36 a person it’s the best there is around. I believe they have a small beer menu as well.
I was so excited for my first kbbq since covid hit, and maybe because of that, my disappointment was all the bigger. It’s one of the few places that serves seafood, which is why I picked it, BUT the shrimp and octopus arrived to the table already cooked - what the heck? They served them in bowls and placed directly on the grill. It’s no longer kbbq, it’s stew. The best part of the kbbq experience is cooking the meat for that delicious grilled flavor, and there’s nothing better than grilled shrimp imo. Sadly we had stewed shrimp instead.Because I never carry cash, we had to end our meal by walking to a sketchass atm, in order to pay for their $3 cash-only valet ?Table service was pleasant, a rarity in such establishments, and for that 3 stars.
Food is average quality, prices are high. But the worst is we had been insulted by a waiter. He literally told me to fxxk off because I protested when they asked us to pay 10$ parking instead of the 3$ that are written all over the place in the parking lot. Overall worst restaurant experience in a long while. They lost 3 customers with a single insult. Avoid this place if you want a calm and easy night, some of their workers are fine but others are aggressive and impolite.
Our experience at Oo Kook was exceptional! The reservation process was easy, the staff seated our party of 12 quickly, and accommodated us for 2 extra people that arrived unexpectedly. Thank you so much to the upstairs staff for your patience, professionalism, and working hard to ensure our group had a wonderful visit. It did not go unnoticed, and I recommend Oo Kook for quality of the food and service all around. Thank you!
Not only was the selection of meat incredible, but the service was outstanding. Our server saw us having troubles with cooking/cutting our meat so he instantly jumped in and helped us.Some of our favorites: black angus marinated beef, short rib, and Kobe beef belly. Also shoutout to the steamed egg and side dishes, we couldn’t have done it without them.
