Dining inside the Farmer’s Market with delicious French food, while scores of people buzz by, is a real treat. I’ve been to their market many times, as well as their location in the LAX airport, but this is my first time dining at the restaurant in person. We stopped in for lunch as it was a warm Friday today and we both really enjoyed the experience. Our server was also very polite and attentive.I chose the French Onion soup to start and really enjoyed it. I get this dish often so I can really judge it against a few other restaurants that I’ve had it at recently and this is definitely is one of the better ones. For my entrée I chose the Croque Madame because I felt like one of my favorite comfort foods and it did not disappoint. As always the egg on top with the Mornay sauce is the perfect combo.I live near and shop at The Grove often so I’ll definitely be back soon and would recommend to anyone looking for a great casual meal in a unique location.
Fun time, solid bistro food
This is one of the staple restaurants that people should give a try at least once in their lives. This bistro serves amazing French cuisine! Been going to this bistro since 2004…Only reason I give it a 4 out if 5 stars is because they removed my favorite dish from the menu, the Filet Mignon… it was the best steak dish I’ve ever had… I hope they bring it back one day, otherwise I would give this bistro a 10 out of 5 if I could.
I LOVE Monsieur Marcel! I can't tell you how many times I've been here and have completely forgotten to write a rave review about it.They have thousands of different imported specialty foods, olive oils, spices, snacks, chocolates, cheese, etc. - it has something for everyone. I can honestly say they have ingredients you can’t find anywhere else. And while the prices are a bit steep, it’s worthwhile. The staff who work with the wine section are some of the most friendly and knowledgeable people who will be more than willing to help you pick up your next bottle (or two).Oh, and they have some of the best croissants.HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Simply amazing or should I say tres magnifique!!!! We got everything we needed for our charcuterie board from Basque cheese to brie. We even found burratta for our bruschetta. Of course we also got baguettes and crackers for our charcuterie board. I saw quince paste! There are also kitchen items and traditional French knives. Wow! Mon dieu! Our bill was only a bit more than $100 and we got a good amount of things! I've included pictures of what we made with the fine cheeses you can find here. I love this market!
Where do I start with this wonderful little gem? I've probably been here at least a dozen times over the past few years. This is one of my favorite places in LA.Tucked inside the Farmers Market, you will feel like you’re in France at a local bistro. My always order is the Kale Salad with Pesto Chicken (Caesar au poulet). We usually either start with the oysters, the artichokes or the octopus (although last time, it was very over cooked).I’d recommend a Saturday or Sunday brunch here. You won’t be disappointed! Also the market is awesome. We love to consult with the deli counter attendants on which cheeses and meats to get for our world famous charcuteries which is serious business in our house. We’ve also been known to grab some great wines and house wares here too.
Really great place for single diners, they have a really nice bar seating area. It's in the middle of the farmers market so there's lots to see. The food was wonderful, traditional French cooking.
Worst experience I’ve had in any market by far. I was discriminated and harassed by the store manager. I walked in with my service animal and all was fine with the other employees until the store manager decided to approached me aggressively to question about my service animal. He escalated his aggressive attack by demanding I provide him proof of my disability and paperwork. According to ADA I am not obliged to prove anything nor is a business manager allowed to harass me into providing documentation. He then proceeded to get closer and closer into my face while I was putting out my arms to avoid him getting to close which was extremely absurd behavior for any “manager” to display. In the end I hope this store manager is investigated for his aggressive behavior. Such a poor representation of this store and I will definitely be passing on this information to family and friends to avoid discrimination.
We have eaten here twice and each time the food exceeds our expectations. The French onion soup was the best we have ever eaten and that includes our visits to Paris. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Niçoise salad. The apple tart with ice cream was the perfect ending to a wonderful lunch. Make sure to visit their market.
Fantastic French market and restaurant with an array of pantry and deli items, wine and baking/serving utensils and stemware. Their seafood market is exceptional, as is the bistro, which combines selections from the gourmet market and the seafood market. Wonderful service in the bistro and friendly, helpful staff in the market. I look forward to revisiting.
