disgusting! I see milk bar everywhere on social media so I decided to try it and it’s not even mediocre, it’s just nasty. I got the birthday cake slice. the cake is dry and the frosting taste like the jar in the store. I took one bite and threw it away. The pie slice kind of taste like pecan pie without the pecans but had a very very chewy texture. and I tried the ice cream and it was just like cloyingly sweet vanilla ice cream with blended cereal hard chunks in it essentially. overpriced but honestly I wouldn’t have eaten it for free, I just threw it all away. gross!
Overall love everything here! Have been to this location multiple times but last night one of the employees was very rude for absolutely no reason. We purchased a whole pie, two slices on the side and a soft serve with cereal topping. She handed our soft serve and it didn’t have the cereal topping, which we right away noticed and let her know. She stated that we didn’t pay for it with a very nasty attitude and told her we had asked for it, she turned around and rolled her eyes and just covered the top with cereal and it looked like she just plastered it around it looked dilapidated. Her attitude just ruined the whole experience! We know what we ordered and if they forgot to charge for the cereal topping we don’t mind paying for it, her reaction was unnecessary and we weren’t being rude whatsoever. We didn’t get her name but she was hefty and it was just her in the front handing out with a guy with red hair taking orders around 6pm. I would not want someone with an attitude like that working for me especially when we just spent more than $70 at your establishment. Will think twice before coming here again.
Birthday cake and birthday cake shake are EXCELLENT. Truly out of this world. One of the top best cakes I’ve ever had and I’m very picky. The shake is absolutely delightful with the space cake bits in it. That’s some cutting edge confectionary right there. Visiting here really cheered me up. I highly recommend.
This is by far my favorite bakery in LA. I don't know what it is about this place. I can't stop eating it. I go every week to pick up a pint of cereal milk soft serve, corn cookies, milk bar pie, and their seasonal-flavored cakes. You need to try the corn cookies from the case (the packaged ones don't taste as good to me). It has a "what's in this?!" factor that will make you not put it down. Several of my friends have called this cookie "dangerous" due to it's risk of dependence.BRING BACK FUNNEL CAKE SOFT SERVE PLEASE!
Waited for 2 years to return and experience what in 2019 was the best milkshake I ever had. Extremely sad and disappointed. The consistency was way off- liquidy and the cup itself was about 1/2 full of the cereal crumble. Wife got soft serve and it seemed in terms of quantity and quality that's the way to go.Service sucked bad. Made me as a customer feel like it was a race thing since they were rude to me (white dude) but overly polite to my Mexican wife. I don't need some kid dishing out identity politics with my dessert.Dropped like 73 bucks with tip and feel like I got robbed. I've been supporting the business by buying it at whole foods but my experience here is probably gonna change that.
It just has small prepackaged slices of cake and bars. There were only 4 or 5 options. I don't know if I would have enjoyed it more if the cake were fresh, but as served, it was decent but certainly not worthy of all the hype.
EWW!!! $55 down the drain. Got a chocolate birthday cake and it was absolutely disgusting. Its not cake. A bunch of candy with a sprinkle of cake crumble. Too much chocolate chip, cookie crumble mixed in with super sweet frosting, and topped with super sweet cookies. If you want actual cake, this is NOT IT. Guests with a sweet tooth said it was not good at all.
The Cakes on the website look amazing, the menu fits to the website, the business deserves 5 stars to me. Delicious!!
The outside of this store and marketing is AMAZING… although the food is a huge let down!!! ): We tried the chocolate birthday cake and cereal milk shake for $15 (cake + shake combo). The birthday cake was so dry and frozen—it tasted like a Walmart cake from the bakery. The cereal milkshake tasted like a bowl of thick milk with cereal blended in it. We will not be going back, unfortunately. The dessert is not worth the money or drive to get it.
really great shakes and pies
