Excellent spot at the original LA Farmers market!! The coffee here is fantastic, the staff are so friendly, and there are some great food options on the menu!! You have to check out Michelina!!

Their bread is the best in the city - hands down. Their service, in the Farmer's Market, is some of the worst. Waiting 15 minutes in line today, with one person working the register, and three people hovering in the back of the stall, I watched as three other people got out of customer line and left. Please open the doors to your neighbors at the bakery on PIco!!!!

First of all the coffee and the bakery items are good...unfortunately the last 2 times I have been at Michelina the server has been very rude.First time: My friend and I: The petite woman server was standing about 2 feet from myself and this friend at the cash register. The server was chit chatting with another employee... about some personal conversation and looking right at us. She still didn't come ask us if she could help. 2 feet from the cash register. After several minutes... I had to ask if we could get some help and she then decided to help us.My friend thanked me for being the one to have to ask her for help. We were both put off with her behavior.Second time...my husband and I have ordered...we were trying to get seated at your counter... as it was very busy we had to move chairs around. We weren't interested in take home so the cash register person gave us some plates and napkins and utensils. We were just getting settled, waiting for our coffee and bakery item...and the same petite woman server from before is behind us saying very loudly...EXCUSE ME, EXCUSE ME, EXCUSE ME. She's reaching for our plates as if they weren't ours...I asked what she is doing? We felt she was insinuating that we were trying to steal the plates. It was so weird. We didn't know what was happening. She told me to "Not cop at attitude" when I asked her what she was doing. By the way she didn't clean the counter which she claimed she trying to do. I had to uncomfortably ask her to come clean the coffee rings off the counter after all this rudeness from her. It's too bad one person can cause such chaos.Blue Moon

Sweet, Sweet Treats! and GooD EAT … ?

Coming here for years but sadly I never did write a review. Not only is this one of the best bakeries in LA but one of the best bakeries anywhere. I’m writing a review tonight because just saw the tail end of an exchange with an incredibly unpleasable customer. The staff or owner – were speaking to her and being incredibly accommodating. But she wouldn’t have it and left off in a huff, nasty as could be. I’m just impressed the way they handled her and it’s a great business with excellent, excellent products! We just spent the last year in London, Paris and Europe, and we’re not missing the bakeries there, because happily, there is Michelina!

This is a neighborhood gem that is easily one of the top bakery/patisserie in Los Angeles. The open bar seating serves wonderful quiches, baguette and pastries. Whenever I am at the Grove, I stop by and treat myself to a taste of Paris! They also offer American flavor dessert like Red Velvet in a French pastry. It’s definitely worth checking out if you like French bakeries.

Bread was amazing, definitely coming back!

Best baguette in town! This is the only place I will ever buy my baguettes from now on. Michelina has become the excuse for me to visit the farmers market more often. Now, when it comes to service, I have ready many complaints. When I got there, there was this old lady who spends at least 5 minutes changing her mind about the bread she wanted to purchase. There were 4 loaves of the same kind of bread and she had the girl who worked there, a tall brunette, pick up each of them and put them back one after the other because she couldn't decide. Any person would have lost their cool but the sales girl remained calm and was very professional about the whole thing.

The food is pretty amazing here and they have a great menu selection too. The prices are very reasonable and the service staff are super nice.

On my 5th visit there there was hair in my pastery. I brought it right back since it was baked into it. The girl working the counter gave me a new one and did not even apologize. Actually almost gave me attitude over it. It's not my fault your kitchen staff does not wear hairnets. This was the second issue I had here and both times it was handled so poorly.I highly suggest going to Chamount. Cheaper, better, cleaner.
