It's not a beautiful place. But the owner, cook and staff are amazing. Excellent service and most important the food was Amazing. We ordered the house wine and several dishes recommended by the owner and waitress. You will feel at home at this restaurant. Thank you for your amazing hospitality.
WHAT A SPOT!! the ambient feeling like you left America for a little bit. I have sensory issues so the dim lighting and constant burning of incense made me feel so at home. The host was so attentive and kind as I was asking a lot of questions curious about what I was eating and what it was made with. Everything was worth the money and so affordable. I’d have to recommend starting of with the Samosas.I personally ordered the veggie combo which was amazing and easy to enjoy, especially with me being a first timer. 10/10 would come back
It was my first time eating Ethiopian food and it was pretty good! The restaurant is clean and culturally decorated. There is a store next to the restaurant where they have African merchandise. The server was attentive and nice. I found out about this restaurant because of the HBO series Insecure, written by Issa Rae. I wanted to experience it because the show kept going there for all 4 seasons, this is where Issa and Molly would meet up.
First time trying Ethiopian food and I’m mindblown!! The dishes here are so vibrant and flavorful and the service was so welcoming and warm. Right after I finished this meal I was already thinking about when I’ll be back :,)Ordered:Kitfo (minced raw beef - we got it slightly seared)Yedoro wot (stewed chicken leg)Awaze Tibbs (beef w onions, tomatoes, hot peppers)Veggie comboThe kitfo & awaze tibbs were my favorites but honestly everything tasted AMAZING with the injera. The injera was the perfect texture and paired so well with the decadent stews. I will definitely be back soon!!
I got the trout and number 18. It was busy when I went on a Wednesday night and there was only one server. She was nice but it did take longer to order my food. The food was very good and it was my son's first time trying to eat with only his hands and he seemed to adjust well. I really like trout and the reviews said the trout was good so I'm glad it didn't disappoint.
I never had Ethiopian food prior to visiting. I'm always up for a food adventure and this did not disappoint! I tried a little of everything that was ordered, we were a small group, and everything was great. A nice, laid back atmosphere where you can sit, enjoy your food, and enjoy the company of your friends. Next time I'm in the area I'll probably stop again.
Loved this place.Great service. Went on a quiet Tuesday afternoon early dinner. Found parking on the street nice ?Lady was super nice. Friendly. And professional. No problems w food, ordering etc. Bathrooms clean. Extra sink also outside in hallway so u don't have to go in bathtoom to wash hands. Make sure everyone washes hands before eating.Food is great! Less oily than other places.Ordered whole fried fish. So good and crispy! comes w vegetables.Got Shiro! And meat dishes ofc. The injera is perfect and everything comes at right temperature.Coffee here is good too!I would come back. And also wish they expanded to more locations please ?
I had the fish with vegetables an injera. The fish was delicious, I really like the curry cabbage and tomatoes. I wish my injera wasn't cold. The vegetables sides were not as hot as I would have liked. My food came out fast though. I also liked the little store attached. I might try again in the future.
Immediately you're greeted with a warm, colorful experience, with plenty to take in. The service is first rate, and the food is exceptional. If you get there early enough, it's worth asking for the coffee ceremony! There's also a market adjacent if you want to do some shopping.
One of my favorite Ethiopean restaurants in town. All dishes are always equally delish. So are all drinks. A must if you are exploring Ethiopean for the very first time.
