Meals By Genetjust completed refinishing my hardwood floors. One word: MAGNIFICENT!!!Josef (owner) very patiently spent over an hour creating the "perfect stain color" for the floor. He explained step by step so I understood the entire process from start to finish. His crew arrived on time (in fact, about 10 minutes early) each day. They completed the job in just 2 days. Based on the impressive result, I have already referred 2 friends and an interior designer/decorator to Sequoia.A+++

You might have read Jean Genet's œuvres but if you haven't tasted Genet's soul food, that's another story. To be experienced now more than ever. Paired with an ice cold beer, or a funky red vino from the Tyrol, order the lamb, the fava beans, the lentils & voilá, all worries will melt away. Genet is in the kitchen every night & the takeout is brought to you with love & gratitude. Gratefully yours & so happy Genet continues to roll out her creations. Leftover injira (spongy bread made of teff grain) & its fillers make perfect accompaniments to an egg. Fit for a night absorbing more Ted Lasso episodes. Merci!!!

Try Veggie combo with stewed lentil, sunflower seeds, and azifa, Dorowot with cardamom, black pepper, and berbere & Teff cookies with cinnamon

So happy this place is back open! The food is prepared authentically. Enjoy the veggie platter with fish and lamb.

Good service to their customers and the price is so decent, you would really enjoy eating here.

Good service and I really love the fact their price is really decent and the food is superb.

I was quite surprised at the decreased quality and increased price of the food. We had take out and found the tofu tibs were partially burnt. The doro wat was nearly $30 and we were shocked to see how little chicken and sauce were in the container. On top of that, we were pressured to leave a tip for the waitstaff for our pickup order.Meals by Genet had really taken a turn for the worse. It used to be my favorite place. It’s a real shame.

This is really quality Ethiopian food, so I partially understand all the hype. However, they really need to adjust their prices for take-out. You are paying for high-end luxury fine-dining, but to-go in a styrofoam container. It's just simply not worth it. You can get similar quality take-out Ethiopian food elsewhere for half the price. When indoor dining returns, I'm sure this is a fine spot for a pleasant evening out. (I do have to congratulate them for their incredibly safe contact-free takeout system).
