Food was awful with the arrival of a new chef a month ago. He should not be allowed to cook in any restaurant. Menu has been minimized to a third of original offerings with very old school standard menu selections after new ownership with new unappealing decor. Mussels that were supposed to be cooked w/ white wine were drowned in a thick overbearing mustard sauce and prawn and endive salad had a one dimensional bitter flavor and was actually bland despite having eggplant puree, goat cheese and a mustard -tarragon vinaigrette - which you could not even discern was present. Staff was pleasant w/ very good service. Manager seemed very apologetic and did not charge for the salad and comped two desserts.

You go through the buffet - type line and choose what foods you would like and your portions. You then tell the meat waiter what kind of meat you would like and he cuts off his fresh kebab. The meat was really good but salty and the sides were pretty good - something different and not heavy like the fast food that weighs you down. You pay for your food by weight. We would recommend the sirloin top, sirloin cap, sausage and super nice fried bananas!

Ok so...went back again but still wasn't wowed. Tried the salmon this time and while it was very flavorful with a beautiful presentation (forgot the pic) it was still overcooked!Service was excellent as usual.Changed the menu but love the open airy friendly vibe!

I’m a Francophile so it pains me to give any French-style restaurant a bad score but Kendall’s in March 2022 is neither worth the money nor the time you will spend waiting for service, for water, for your meal. And once the meal arrives, you’ll be sorely disappointed. We got the frites, a salad and the steak to split between two people. All were overpriced, very underwhelming in flavor and truly insanely overpriced for the quality of the food. The only thing I enjoyed were *some* aspects of the decor, the location (handy when you’re going to a an event downtown or at The Broad) and the brut rosé that we had. Two stars for that only.

Great newly remodeled restaurant. The price is high but it’s nice quality. The service was quick and they really understand the importance of delivering the food quick as the majority of the visitors are on their way to the theatre. I got the octopus salad and ratatouille with the chocolate mousse for dessert and was very pleased with everything!

Not so great experience. My girlfriend and I came here on Saturday afternoon after visiting The Broad. We were able to walk in and get a table for two outside, but the service was extremely slow and the food wasn’t satisfying at all. I ordered the flat iron steak frites and she got the farmhand greens and truffle fries. The steak was tasteless and borderline cold by the time it reached me, with a slice of solid garlic butter that should have been melted to baste the steak. The fries tasted like they were sitting out for too long.Unfortunately the best part of the meal were our glasses of Brut Rose. Wouldn’t recommend coming here.

We dropped in without reservations about 90 minutes before our play at the Ahmanson. Realizing nearly 90% of the patrons were all dining pre-theater, our chances were slim. Thankfully we were provided two seats at the bar which was fine. We were promptly waited on, provided drinks and then our food arrived within a short amount of time after. I had the butternut squash soup which was plentiful and accompanied by two slices of toasted bread. The soup was delicious. I also ordered a Cesar Salad which also was excellent, flavorful and large enough although classified as appetizer-sized. Service was attentive although being totally slammed with pre-theater. HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you secure a reservation in advance and allow 90 minutes before your play is to begin as there is often a long queue at the theater entrance verifying vaccinations and testing. Pricing here is fair and the setting is bright and airy. The outdoor tables are really nicely placed as well.

They fell off! I had to send my food back twice because it was cold. I'm not sure if our waitress was new or it was just not her day, but I just started grabbing any staff member to help me because I had a show to get to. Once my food was hot, it was good.

I ate here twice in one week before seeing shows at the Ahmanson and Mark Taper Forum, I loved it! Great cocktails, loved the brussel sprouts (shared them both nights) and had great meals! In addition, staff came by and cleared us (with wrist bands)for the shows!

Amazing place with outstanding customer service! Highly recommended!
