Really amazing Thai food! Everything we ordered was so tasty, but the yellow curry was SO GOOD. I have no idea what they did to the potatoes in it but my friends and I were in awe, probably some of the best potatoes I've had. They were so soft and buttery and honestly if I wasn't so full I would've ordered another round of yellow curry...
If there were more stars I’d give them 6. We drive all the way from Santa Monica just to dine here, the food is Thailand grade, which is a huge compliment and unbelievably scarce elsewhere (Inc LA). So far I’ve had the phanang Curry, the green curry, pad Thai and pad see eu. All absolutely delicious and super authentic. Definitely worth the trip to Thai town.
I had not been to Jitlada for a few years, but I had watched TV as owner, Jazz, won a cooking competition. That prompted me to return. Jazz was just leaving the restaurant when we arrived – if she had been there, I think the service would not have suffered as it did. Dishes took “forever” to come out of the kitchen (the restaurant was full and a server whispered that they only had one cook that Sunday night). The Crispy Morning Glory Salad was, as always, sublime. Lemongrass Shrimp Fried Rice was also very good. The Krachai Crispy Pork was just so-so. We had to try the Mango Sticky Rice for dessert and it was excellent, with an unexpected bit of delicious sauce. Other than the slow service, Jitlada met our usual expectations of great spicy Southern Thai food, except that all prices have risen considerably since our last visit ($6. for a tiny bottle of Singha, etc.).
Our son who lives in LA took us here. DO NOT be put off by the run down strip mall this place sits. This is an award winning restruant that is the most authentic Thai food I have ever had. This is a family owned and run business. We saw the Grandma working the day we ate there. She is famous. Though we got in right away for lunch I have been told people wait an hour to 90 minutes at dinner. Our meal was interest and outstanding. I would tell you what we ate but I am not sure as our son did the ordering and for me this type of Thai food was new to me. You have to go here.
A great place to grab some Thai food. The stir fried noodle is super delicious. Very well-seasoned sauce and the noodle soaked up the sauce nicely. Ox tail is well-cooked. The dish looks like it is spicy, but not really, only a little. The roll is interesting; kinda like a fusion dish imo. It is dipped in a honey mustard + hot sauce sauce. Tastes pretty good! I couldn't really taste the hot pot because it is way too spicy - they put so many types of chilli in. Watch out and think before you order this. I bet it is good if you can handle the heat. Thai tea is yummy!
Hand down one of the best meals I've ever had in my life.Absolutely amazing Thai dishes from a restaurant that's been around longer than most of their customers! Reasonably prices and friendly staff. They have an expansive and somewhat intimidating menu with over 180 items, but I'm certain that whatever you order will be delicious. The morning glory salad and crispy duck spring rolls are a must try and some of the best dishes I've ever eaten. They always seem to be busy so be sure to come early as they don't take reservations and the wait list is posted outside.
The food of course is delicious. The menu is super long, service is good too.
Very impressed with the offerings and qualities at Jitlada. Even with the recent change to takeout-only, it was still a special meal and well worth the 30 minute drive. I ordered a Tom Yum soup, spring rolls, and Thai iced tea with boba, which came out quickly for a lunch order.I'm excited to come back with friends and order more dishes, as everything I had was delicious and full of flavor!
Great place, especially if you are into Thai food. They have a big menu with many items. I took on the Dynamite challenge, and let me tell you, it was SPICY ?. This place made my visit to LA worth the trip. Will definitely go again
The food was wonderful. It did take a while to get out food yet it was understandable as you could see the kitchen was quite busy with the in person orders and the to go orders.
