What do you get when you have an old school diner and a jukeboke providing ALL the vibes? Jack's Family Kitchen. I have seen this place dozens of time and finally make the decision to dine.A friend of mine from college was visiting me and I thought I'd taken her to all relevant areas of LA. Since we were both in the breakfast mood, I decided a new spot would be the thing. The food, the food, the food. The only place I normally get good grits is my mom's house. I ordered the Denver omelette with a side of grits. And a hot chocolate. Boy, let me tell you it hit just right. Like, YEAH. And more importantly, they have great customer. The staff was friendly and attentive.Good people, good food and good vibes... you can't ask for more.
Came here to place a to go order. Place smelled amazing walking in and the music definitely was a whole vibe. The waitress attitude was a little stank until she saw I left a tip then that attitude turned to gratitude. The salmon cakes definitely where delicious. I was very pleased with the taste and portion. My boyfriend got the fried chicken which was mediocre at best. I would definitely revisit.
Had the opportunity to visit Jack's family kitchen while visiting the LA area and the food was great as well as the service....everyone made you feel welcome. I would definitely recommend this spot. I had the two egg breakfast it was so good I didn't get a picture. My husband had the fried chicken also very good option.
My wife and I took her father here for breakfast and I wasn't sure what to expect but I had the country fried steak and eggs with the biscuits and it was very good. I recommend this spot for a good honestly breakfast. The staff, especially our waitress was very friendly as well.
Doordash order:Salmon croquettesSunny side up eggs &BiscuitsLike every review I read about this restaurant, the portion sizes are good and the prices are reasonable! The deduction of the 2 stars is the lack of seasoning. Salmon croquettes were extremely bland! No vegetables in the croquettes, just straight salmon. Maybe if I dined in I may have a better (taste) experience. I will give them another try when I visit LA again.
We've been coming here, when in town, for over 20 years. Consistent good, home-cooked food (except the biscuits weren't as good today - every one is entitled to an off day. Hope it was a fluke ?) and, the atmosphere is classic ?! See you next trip! ❤
I love Jacks kitchen and haven't been there since the pandemic until last week. I have to say l was a bit disappointed. I ordered my usual wings and scramble eggs with 1 pancake. The wings still had feathers sticking out from it no seasoning spice no taste. Neither the breading, the chicken nor the egg had any seasoning. I had to put some ketchup to give them a little flavor. The food was definitely not tasty and seasoned like what it use to be. Disappointed ?
Great breakfast! But the waitress wasn't very friendly. Still will come back here just for the food; but come now anyone brining business at least pretend your happy we came. Remember this is our community our customer service has to improvement with our people.
First time here and enjoyed the place. They open at 6 am which is great since they're few locations open that early. The breakfast sandwich and the country fried steak were great. I will be back again and would definitely recommend this place.
It was an unexpected surprise to find this family diner in the neighborhood. The food is definitely the best part about this place. The service is great too.
