I was referred from the Hollywood Hotel located 25 mins away. Initially I didn’t mind walking all that because the expectation was a very fulfilling and taste breakfast. The service was super slow, I had to ask for a server 3 times, 20 mins later I placed my order and soon enough I found out that the food was really terrible. I ordered the BBQ beef brisket and it was pretty disgusting. Way too much sauce and a lot of salt. There was more BBQ than meet itself. I also ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and it was the same thing, lots of mayonnaise at the point that my hands got all dirty. Again! At that point I was so disappointed that I decided to take a shot on the bakery items and they all tasted a week old, super hard as a rock. The bakery items you buy at the gas station has a better quality. Believe me! I wanted to give 0 but the minimum is 1 star, so there you go. The Hollywood Hotel should be ashamed of referring that down the hill restaurant for its guests.
went here for the first time the other day & it was amazing. good food with big portions & reasonable prices (I got the country fried steak & my friend got the patty melt). classic diner food & vibe, which i loveour server was really sweet and helpful and the pies were so good! we got the dutch apple pie, blueberry cheesecake & key lime pie (will say the key lime pie didn't taste like it had any limes in it lol, just a sweet green pie). the apple pie & cheesecake were delicious tho !will definitely be coming back to this spot
This place was amazing when I was a kid, this is no longer the case. Food was horrible, you know there's a problem when I have to put ketchup on everything. Place was filthy, the dirt on the table was probably there for months. The peach pie was sad, I can make a better one out of canned peaches an some Pillsbury pie crust. It's not House of pies, is It's actually House of Lies.
Honestly this is the best orange chicken and egg rolls we have ever had. And when I say the best I mean we drive 45 minutes (without traffic) to eat here. Their Mia Thai is great as well. The atmosphere is great (very low key) and the staff are very nice. Always enjoy coming here and 100% recommend
Picked up an apple pie and a slice of banana cream pie ?Both delicious! When I got there, only Two people in line in front of me and by the time I left there was a line of about 8 people. Parking lot is small but I was able to get a spot. Quick service if you are picking up, but I also noticed people were being seated as soon as they walked in. Didn't eat there, but when I walked in, the place has not changed since the early 90's when I last ate there. One of these nights I will have a slice of pie and coffee there.
What used to be a mixed-bag experience has now become a pleasant and wholly positive dining experience all around, to where I can fully appreciate how adorable this place actually is. We were waited on by the kindest, most friendly waitress, who tended to us so graciously. The food was also delicious...and I managed to find a way to save room for, of course, pie! Their peanut butter pie is out of this world, although the pecan pie, too, is insanely good...and you do get a super-generous portion, which is great for a bottomless pit like me! They seem to be working to make things nice for everyone, including how well the wait staff seem to work together, as a nice, full collective experience: we had another friendly waitress come by and clear our plates for us to make room for our delicious dessert! It also wasn't particularly busy during the time frame we were there (mid-afternoon on a Monday), so it's likely a great time to patronize. I now totally love it there once again...it used to not always be a pleasant experience there, but they seem to now get it so right. Thank you for the courteous, friendly service with a smile! :-)
The first time I went the service was slow but the food was great. The second time I took my mom and the service was fast but the food was not great and they messed up my mom's order twice. So it seems like a hit or miss at the moment. Also FYI they have a "B" rating. ?⚖️
In town from Canada. All I can say about this place is damn! Great "diner" menu with great portions, good prices and great food!We saved room for pie by only eating half the meal. We couldn't pass up the chance! If we come back to LA we will be back here!
You walk in and sit if you see an open tables. A friendly server comes to you and takes your order. The food is great and the servings are huge! Perfect spot for hangover food lol
This was terrible! Ordered through Door Dash. Had Key Lime Pie that tasted like it was made a week before. I had a bite and my husband had a bite. In the trash it went. Never rec'd the blueberry pie we ordered. The Strawberry pie was ok but was not remarkable. My son doesn't eat sweets so he had the fruit with yogurt and granola. This was ok but definitely not the freshest fruit. I would not recommend this to anyone.
